I know LightHound is safe. I assume SuperT is as well. They only sell batteries for their own mods and they are well respected. I bought from EmpireMods and they have an authorized dealer symbol on their front page.

As I said, I know nothing about most of the companies on the list -- it's all the results for "AW IMR 18350" until I got to a page that was mostly Alibaba. I just want to save people some googling time.

I wasn't questioning whether of not those specific shops are legitimate, more making a general statement about buying AW's. Although, it's not enough just to trust the shop. Fakes can make it into the supply chain before the retail level. If you trust a shop and they say they get their batteries directly from AW then you should be good.

Really, the best way to get AW's is directly from AW himself. He sells them direct over at the Candle Power Forum: AW's LiIon Batteries Sales Thread *Part 12* I thought I saw a thread from AW announcing that he was selling batteries here on ECF but I can't seem to find it.

No, I always had the white one, but the thread was dying so I thought I'd take a pic of it and post it here. How did your Ovale V8 bite the dust???

Ah. I see. Very stylish. I want one of those DCTs but I didnt know how it would work on the V8 cuz it has PWM. How do u like it?? I got the Apollo tank yesterday and screwed it on and my device just went haywire, it started flashing and would alternate from Ch (Which Eric from Discount Vapers has never even seen before) to 5.0 and it wouldnt fire. It would work if I jiggled the carto around on it though. Weird right? All I know is I am having withdrawls!!!! Lol.

I had something simlilar with my EMDCC, so I removed the batteries of my Ovale V8 and tried another carto, works fine again. Strangely enough, that carto will now only work on one eGo battery, none of the others...
I think that basically the Ovale doesn''t like an old Dual Coil Carto..

    Whatis PWM?

Pulse width modulation. It started doing it with every carto I put on it.

I think I'm going to get a V8 for my next purchase. Been looking a the different LT versions, but for an excellent price the V8 looks like it will do everything that the LTs minus resistance checks. Couple of questions:

Reading that just about everyone says it hits harder that other devices at the same voltage, has anyone put a volt meter on it to see loaded voltage compared to set voltage?

Has anyone run into when using, or seen the amp limit advertised anywhere?

Using a 3ohm carto/atty (or close to 3ohms) what voltage setting are you typically using?

You can't read PWM with a regular voltmeter. I think it is rated at 2.5 Amp but I'm not positive.. I use mine anywhere between 3.3 and 4.5 volts depending on the carto and juice.

You can't read the sine wave of PWM with a regular multimeter. But you can read the average over time. That is the design of PWM, high voltage for a portion of time followed by low or no voltage for a portion of time. The average should match the set voltage. That is what I'm ultimately wondering; is the PWM schedule programmed to match the desired voltage?

How do you get a sharp knife in there? I can get a dental pick all around the edge except at the latch. I can't even squeeze it in there.

I somehow forgot about this when reordering. It will be my last V8. The reason I won't buy another heavy tube mod is because they trigger a weak muscle in the back of my hands. I don't need to replace that pain with thumbs so sore they now need some Advil.

I have mentioned silicone or rubber several times.... No need for a knife.

Tried those. It didn't help -- nothing was slipping. The knife did the trick. It put pressure in a very narrow spot right where the latch was while not pushing in anything around it.

When I put the batteries in, the cover has a much better fit than on my other one. This might be the trade-off. Neither is a good solution. There is so much to love about this PV but they also saved themselves pennies per unit by cutting some corners that shouldn't have been cut.
