I guessing its the older one. The ohm checker doesn't really matter to me, I have an ohm checker. I'm really enjoying this mod.
Well, did you get it switched on then?
Oh, I see, you had it working and was checking if it had an ohm checker? Anyway, if it has the gap by the eGo connector then it's the older version. Which site did you order from and how much was it?

EDIT: Oops, OK reading back I see it was from Vapor Break lol.

hey all, got a problem was wondering if u could help me - i got an old model v8 (shiny) w/ my kit, they threw in the newer model for free and that's what ive been using since i got it and i was keeping the shiny one as backup - tested it when i first got it and it was fine...been sitting on the shelf for a few months, went to try it the other day and it lights up but doesn't fire - everytime i hit the button it lights up but when i release it the voltage meter resets to 5.0....can't get it to hit - tried 2 evods, a protank, 2 vivi's and a 306...nothing. any help's appreciated.

It came with 2 600 mah efest batteries...

The vaporbreak.com site says that the kit comes with 2 x 900 batteries (1800 MAH when combined). Are you sure they sent you 2 x 600 mah batteries with their kit? If they did that would be false advertising!

The other advantage of having an Ovale V8 with an ohm checker is that is should also have a battery voltage checker function which will display the current battery voltage so that one can know when to swap out batteries.

Your point about the mAh capacity is well taken.

The way the two batteries are used in the Ovale V8, in series, is as ~7.6 Volts at 900 (or 600) mAh, rather than, parallel at ~3.8 Volts at 1800 mAh.

Ovale V8s are a bit scarce these days.

Based on the info I found on this site the 2013 Sigelei Ovale V8 does show working and battery voltage and show atomizer resistance. To access atomizer resistance one simply needs to press the + & - buttons at the same time. NOW where can I purchase the 2013 Sigelei Ovale V8? Vaporbreak.com is currently out of stock but hopefully their new stock will be the 2013 Sigelei Ovale V8.

It seems my late model Ovale V8 failed yesterday. While it displays voltage and an external volt meter indicates voltage at the connector, it does not fire 'under load' (won't put current into a cartomizer). The Ohms display is continually at 9.9 on cartos that work fine on my older model V8. The connection does not seem to be the problem.

Has someone else had a failure with a late model (Ohms reading) Ovale V8?

I may put up a Want to Buy / Trade classified ad seeking one.

I read recently that the Ovale V8 VV isn't powerful enough to handle anything lower than a 2 ohm atty or cartomizer so if you/re currently using a lower ohm carto or atty then try using a 2 ohm or higher carto or atty and see if it works.

M older shiny version would work with 1.2-1.3 ohm atties. The newer matte version with ohm checker doesn't work with anything below 1.5 ohms.
