Thanks, Iusedtoanalog. I'm seeing some better lighted pics on the Apollo Kit page: E2 Apollo Kit

There's a clear window in the middle that I thought was a silver band or something.

I like how the bottom (the battery part) lights up. But it's a bit "shiny" for my taste. Maybe if I had a chrome v8.....

OMG, I want a chrome v8!!!! That would be soooo cool!!!

My white one. Now that Ive gotten to spend some time with it, not as pleased as I was initally. It has a loose atty connection that I'll have to fix, and the vapor production is touchy. I'm thinking there may be a weak solder under the atty connection. If I have to pull it apart I may just pirate the guts for a dual 1860 mod...

Sweet! Nice touch with the white tank.. Is that a J-Tank?

If you turn your V8 into another mod, I hope you post pics and elaborate a bit. I'm interested in this whole "build your own mod" thing I'm seeing around the forum. Pretty cool stuff.

Yes. It's a J tank, but they call the delrin ones "fuel" tanks. electronicstix.com

Ah yes, a Fuel Tank. Those are pretty cool.

I like how the white V8 is contrasted by the black buttons and display. Same black & white thing going on with the matching tank. There are black & white swivel tips, too, where the base is white and the tip is black. Just putting that out there.....

Pbusardo has a youtube review on them, for anyone interested:)

Pbusardo didn't like the construction of the Ovale V8 very much, so I'm kinda done with him. J/K!! My fave part was when he broke out the megaphone and yelled at the camera "Why didn't you make the bottom flat?!!"

Anyone have this and an evercool/varicool boxmod that takes 14500 batteries to compare battery life to? I don't understand how an 18350 should have roughly the same mAh rating as a 14500, I would think the 18350 would have considerable more volume. I'd like to get this mod, but I don't see a purpose in getting it and getting a different set of batteries to charge, just for the same performance.

Any input would be great.

Although I don't have this one, I've got Evercool mods that take 18350s and 14500s. Battery life is about the same, maybe a little better with 18350 but close enough to call it even.

It has to do with the capacity of the battery. 18350s are 18mm diameter and 35mm long, shorter but fatter. 14500s are 14mm diameter and 50mm long, longer but skinner. The overall volume is pretty much the the same, just a different form factor.

I like the idea of the evercool mods, but the only thing I don't like is that there is no display. For the money, I am going with a V8 next to get that cool display and PWM. Seems that the batteries on the V8 last FOREVER with PWM. Never had a PV that lastet me more than the first part of the day... My 900mah Twist gets me from wake up to right before I leave to go home.. Not a horrible thing now that I have two Twists:)

Evercool mods are just that, mods. They can have a meter, led or anything else the modder wants to put in it. I've got 2 with meters and several without.
