I'm talking about 3 or 4 puffs, not coming close to draining those puppies. (ETA: 2 sets of batteries are going to cost as much as the v8 did. I just want to know if I like it. Then I'll put it away for a few days -- LightHound delivers fast.)

Did you buy just your V8 body, because the kit comes with 2 batteries and the charger. I too have a huge amount of different batteries and chargers... gets a bit much lol. Just be careful and take the advice given. Don't use mismatched batteries and/ or of different age. Even if one has a lot of ( identical) batteries for changing out for one device, the should only be used in the same pairs and should be labeled 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B. Only the 1s should be used together and only the 2s etc. They should be alternated in how you place them in the device. If one battery in a set goes bad, never use the ( OK) partner in a new set. It can be used in a single battery device, but not paired with another.

I am no battery expert AT ALL! This is just battery stacking safety rules I have read here on the forum.

They were all out of kits. And I have two chargers that work with 18350s. And 2 new boxes of Joye atomizers. And a bunch of unused first generation Boge cartos that I throw in my kit to take with me in case my atomizer dies while I'm out. But what tastes best these days is my 801 atomizers at 4.7V on an adapter. (But I won't use that on my trial -- just the basics.)

I'll be careful. I literally only want to know how it feels in the hand (don't need batteries for that) and if I like the flavor that amount of power puts out. I'm primarily a dripper so it will only take 2 puffs to know that. The two batteries are the same age and both have been used very little. Even so, I wouldn't use them together for real vaping but a couple of puffs shouldn't be enough to even warm them up.

And, if I'm wrong, I promise to take personal responsibility. I will not blame the the V8 manufacturer, UltraFire or ECF for my stupidity. (ETA: Time for the next topic of discussion.)

hehe... OK. Sorry if I sounded preachy. When is the ETA of your Ovale V8 and what color did you get?
Not preachy, concerned. But there's a point where it's just the same thing over and over.

All they had left was white. Since he's having trouble with the credit card companies, I decided to be nice and pay by check (the only on-line payment methods I use are credit cards and the evil PP.) I mailed it today as I didn't want to go find a mail box at 3 in the morning. So it should arrive Monday or Tuesday and the ETA would be the end of next week.

DV accepts PP too. That is all I use on his site. He sends you an invoice to pay with pp.

I found this:
Crystal Clear Vaping

According to the explanation at the bottom, they are a tiny bit too long for their VMAX mod so they're selling them at a super discount. $4 for one. Select "Add Extra Battery" and get the second for $3.50. That's $7.50 for the set (or $15 for two pairs.) Can't beat that. They'll probably arrive before my V8 does. (And, if they don't, I can wait for a day or two to try it.)

Hopefully they will not be too long for the V8 because I bought some too. I figure I can always use them in my mini Lava if they don't fit the V8.

These are the ones I ordered and they fit the V8 just fine with a little bit of room to spare. $7.50 a pair and free shipping just couldn't pass them up.

That is a good deal from CCV, Poeia. I just ordered some of those tonight. Congrats on your V8 coming in, too! It's a little powerhouse of a mod for sure.
Working on a process of elimination:
Screwdriver - learned that buttons on the bottom are painful for me

Chucks - I love my Chucks. I have a Little Chuck and a big one. They vape like demons. But they are heavy and gripping that tube for any length of time triggers a weak muscle in the back of my hand so I only get to use them for limited amounts of time. And 6V vaping is too much for me so I have to use both at 3.7V.

MBM - Found my shape. I will only buy box mods from now on. And I love 5V vaping. (I also love that it uses rechargeable AA NiMHs.) Curiously, however, the mint boxes aren't strong. So they don't last long enough.

V8 - fingers crossed. It is boxy and VV. And the price is great. I'm a little worried about the grip because I'm a lefty (and I mouse with my right hand so I can't be an ambidextrous vaper when I'm at the computer) but if that works out and they are more durable than the MBM, this should be the end of my quest for a very long time. I could end up buying a rainbow of them. I love having different flavors going at the same time.

And, of course, various eGo/Riva batteries for tossing in my purse when I'm running around.

ok so i keep hearing about this vv mod and have some ?'s
1st. is it legit?(meaning) worth it?..or do u get what u pay for?
2nd.can i vape @ 4.8 which is my sweet spot?
3rd. how does it perform with dual coils?
4th.where do u guys get all these colors from?

Yes, I believe you get much more than you pay for out of this device. This is my first VV device and I couldn't be happier with it!!!! I still don't really understand dual coils, so maybe somebody else can comment on that. I got mine from Discount Vapers. Eric only has the white and the black. He just recently started selling the rubberized ones which I think would be an awesome choice. I dropped my black one outside this past weekend and it has a few chips in the paint, but it still works flawlessly!! This device performs very well, even at 6 volts. I use standard resistence 3 ohm boge cartos so I can take full advantage of the voltage range. I think you would be very happy with this device!! IMO its the best VV for a ridiculous low price!!! Checkout my review of the device here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iews/307246-amazing-ovale-v8.html#post6430502
