No idea what's wrong with my hands. I mentioned it again at my annual physical last month and it's definitely not carpal tunnel -- too high for that. It's the muscle in the middle of the back of the hand, directly below the middle finger. If I hold anything for too long without switching position, the hand either starts to hurt or goes to sleep. With heavy tubes like a Chuck there's a tendency to grip it in my fist which, after about 15 minutes, triggers it. Egos are light enough that I play with them and squarish things like box mods and the V8 promote fidgeting. What's up with your hands Poeia? If you don't mind me asking... if you do, just ignore my question.
No, not missionaries lol! Just our jobs (all different) that either take us abroad or give us an opportunity to work abroad, and/or marriage to a foreign national that keeps us abroad (in two cases). Country of origin - South Africa - where being white is a dirty word and being white AND over thirty, almost guarantees unemployment. Where having barbed wire, guard dogs, security alarms, guns and safe rooms are a necessity, and extreme danger to one's person, one's family and loved ones, one's property and even LIFE... a DAILY threat. We choose life (abroad).
The left is worse because I always held the phone on that side (a headset made all the difference there) and because Poeia (my parrot, Onomatopoeia) used to nap on my left chest for hours with my hand on her back. I didn't want to move because when she was asleep she wasn't inspecting the inside of my ears or examining my arm and neck for flaws to nip off (I'm part of her flock -- it's her job to groom me.)
She's 19 now and doesn't do that as much so the only thing that really triggers it these days is the wrong mod. I tried a Screwdriver in my early days of vaping and learned that a bottom button causes real pain, not just aching. The funny thing is that my hands are pretty strong.
As with so many things in society, the situation in South Africa is a pendulum. The whites held 100% of the power for over a century, now the blacks do. Maybe someday the pendulum will stop where there is a balance.

just got my Ovale back today
