Hmm now im wondering if the batts are the culprit in my ovale. It resets all of the time and i cant use it even for just one drag.

My ovale resets itself like crazy! It resets itself to 5 v whenever i press the switch.
Apparently IMRs are better for VVs and the Ovale is very picky. 18350s aren't all the same length. You need to get short IMRs. The AWs work. Some longer ones cause it to read "lo" almost immediately.
So I posted yesterday about getting the LO reading on my v8 when the batteries were freshly charged. I checked with the vendor on his thread and was told that the manufacturer has told him two different things, could be low battery or it could be too low resistance carto problem. I changed to a different carto and now it's fine. I'm not sure I understand why this worked, but it did. Just thought I'd share.
I just tried a couple of red IMR 18350 800mah batteries in the V8. They are just slightly longer than my other 18350s. "Lo" started flashing on the display right away. But again, these do show "IMR" on them, so I dunno. The red batteries also do not work in my ~The Gripper~ from MadVapes.
The owner of Mad Vapes is checking it out to see if they will work with the Ovale -- he wasn't sure.
Where's the best place to get batteries? Got a link?
The blue ones that came with the kit on one of my Ovales have been fine. I am having problems with some of the sets of red AW IMRs that I bought.
Drag, I'm envious that your batteries last so long. Mine last a couple of hours at best. Probably the low resistance I use?
I assume that this didn't really happen when you first got you V8?
I see. what carto are you using now? Is it a dual coil carto over 3 ohms? I really want to try out all the possibilities to get my V8 at "good vaping condition..."
In my case, the batteries were the problem, not the V8. The red batteries I got, 2 for $7.50 at CCV don't work at all in my other mods except for a mini Lavatube. Probably why they were trying to get rid of them. It would have been nice if they mentioned the batts don't work in anything and that's why they're on clearance! Oddly, out of four mods I tried, they did work in my mini Lavatube. The bottom cap just didn't screw all the way in due to the length of the batts.
The batts that came with the V8 kit work fine. The battery charger that came with the V8 on the other hand is too narrow and one of the batts will pop out when I push a second one in. Discount Vapers is offering a replacement charger for only $1.99 to anyone who bought the kit: Ovale V8 Replacement 18350 Battery Charger
I switched to a 2.4 ohm head on my vivi nova. I was using a 1.7 ohm dc carto.
Sent from my HTC EVO on Taptalk.

I've never purchased anything else at CCV. I have no idea if I will in the future but, if I don't it won't be because of this. And, actually, I'm glad I learned about the varying battery lengths at $4 each instead of $7.50 or more.18350's On sale: $4.00

.We now have IMR 18350 800maH 3.7V Batteries at a very Discounted price. These are brand new, never used IMR Batteries. We thought we would sell them to people who could really use them and need them for a great price, rather than ship them back across the ocean. My Tech/CSM guy tested these batteries before we purchased them and did discharge tests that showed them to be very impressive and somewhat comparable to some other high dollar famous brand batteries. All the important, need to know, specs data is on the website in the product description. But for the quality and discounted price, you just can't beat it...I don't think. For Vmax users.... their are some in this batch that just WILL NOT fit in the VMAX due to their length which is only a fraction of mm the fit seems to tight. For tube mods like the mini lavatube, the mini provari (for a backup battery), and most other 18350 mods that have a battery chamber with a longer spring to give some extra room for added length would not be an issue at all. HURRY WHILE THEY LAST...THEIR IS A VERY LIMITED SUPPLY !!

A poorly designed battery compartment with flimsy springs and a recessed connection that limits which batteries can be used and which doesn't close properly are real flaws with the V8. On the other hand, I haven't seen a variable voltage mod that works for this price (but I'll admit I haven't looked at solid metal tubes that use 18650s as they are too heavy for me.) At this price, if they work well for a year, I'll feel I got my money's worth. And the speed with which this industry is evolving, in a year they'll be obsolete anyway.
I say "they" because I just bought another one. So I needed to buy two more sets of batteries (I'll have 1 set in each and one set charging.) There seems to be a run on AW IMR 18350s. If you're looking, here are the prices I found while googling. (I've only heard of about half of these sites. Some of them could be sleazoid scam artists. So pick with care.)

LightHounds has always been my go-to place for any batteries they carry. They usually aren't the cheapest, but they are competitive and have great service. If they weren't sold out, I wouldn't have looked any further.
I wasn't questioning whether of not those specific shops are legitimate, more making a general statement about buying AW's. Although, it's not enough just to trust the shop. Fakes can make it into the supply chain before the retail level. If you trust a shop and they say they get their batteries directly from AW then you should be good.
Really, the best way to get AW's is directly from AW himself. He sells them direct over at the Candle Power Forum: AW's LiIon Batteries Sales Thread *Part 12* I thought I saw a thread from AW announcing that he was selling batteries here on ECF but I can't seem to find it.
I hadn't known that -- probably this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ers-exporters-america-shipping-worldwide.html
(Telling me there is something to search for is like waving a red cape)
Could be the low resistance. They say that low resistance atomizers/cartomizers use more out of your batteries.
My batteries don't last that long either...

Here you go: AW suppliers. There was a run on 18350s last month and Lighthound, DV and Super T were sold out so I bought from Empire Mods. They arrived very quickly.
Thanks for the good list. RTD is left off. I buy a lot of batteries there.
Question: If I don't want to get the red AW IMR 18350s and want the smaller ones, where's the best place to get them?
Thanks for all your help Poeia!
