I am trying to stop the copiers by putting GG logo and wings on PP guys. Serials are much better for this job, thats why Proteus and all GG series from now on will have serials. Maybe Penelope will have its serial too

Good idea Imeo. If Penelope and Proteus are separate items, but part of a set (they were designed to go together) you could also have the serials reflect that a particular Penelope goes with a particular Proteus. At least for the initial batch.

Like Penelope #1234 / Proteus # 1234 - so you know they both came from the same set originally....

Just an idea...

This is an old story with GG devices Veles. Philippine guys sell direct GGTS-GGStealth-AVS copies and other copies with very small differences. Russian guys do the same. Korean guys sell UFS identical to GG UFS and who knows what else. A Greek store sells GGStealths and GGTB. Others make Iatty from any material they think, unpolished with a small difference in reffiling's cap length. Some copies are fair, some of them are bad, some of them are a waste of time. I am tired of this really. But on the other hand, GG series is the only devices that are copied and I feel proud of this. Also these copies makes original GG look even better and it shows how much work a GG requires to be what it is

ps. I am very glad that you tried to stop this guy from selling GG copies. You are a great guy Veles:)
That was not a site, it was one guy selling copies. I've tried to stop him, but with no sucsess unfortunatelly.. Now he's selling titanium ggts+ufs, but still worse then Imeos. I held one in my hands- wery bad threads, everything sharp and not polished. That happens when people want to make some easy money, but he's not selling a lot with a repairables+variable wattage mods trend on our forum.

Thank you Imeo for your reply. That's international issue with clones... My point of view is to have original products of GG. That's it. If they have serial# so I can check history (for example if I buy it from another seller (not official)

It's bitter sweet Imeo.

Replication is indeed a sincere form of flattery, but at the same token its violating to your passion, business and client base and the good people who don't yet posses proper knowledge with the expectation of doing the right thng.

If it smells like a skunk and kicks like a snake and runs like a nose with a bad cold.... it's probably doesn't wear a tie. :?:

I believe a good portion of the issue (those who are genuinely looking to purchase a genuine GG product) comes from the lack of education and awareness of the intricacies of the fine GG line of devices that you develop and produce.

As a noob, not that long ago, I didn't realize the difference from one piece of equipment to another without having the ability to hold it in my hand. I just figured that some may have less overhead or they were attempting to undercut their competition and make up for it in volume, until I began my quest for knowledge on the GG line.

Fortunately for me, I haven't found myself in that odd predicament of purchasing a product while not receiving what I was expecting, because now I know what I'm looking at, I know what to look for in a genuine GG product and where to get an authentic piece. I feel as though my patience was answered and I was rewarded with what I was seeking.

You have the Wikis, the home sites, good people working support for these sites and the fine folks that frequent the ECF GG forum who will reach out with the proper information for one who is looking to become educated. As a result.... the proper information gets passed on... then it begins to spread and cover more area.

I think, if the wind is just right, the more people become educated about something, the less they are inclined to fall to the wrong side of the tracks..... unless their intent is to do so.

That's the way I see it.

I realize it's a little different when one is being told and showed a piece that has been misrepresented from across the globe...... but that gets into a whole other set of morals and values....

There is no substitute for genuine!

People who are genuinely interested in something should do their due diligence prior to making a purchase.

In closing, I am so looking forward to receiving my very first genuine GG device(s) very soon. My due diligence and patience have served me well in the longer run.

BTW - hope you all don't mind the lengthy post. I sent the piano out for repairs and needed to exercise my fingers...

Keep up the great gift Imeo - you're awesome dude!! :headbang:

Peace-

Easier said than done really;

I`ve been looking for an AVS for a couple months and well,those that I saw flew out of the classies with 250-300 dollars range;

Now in came that AVS body, modified with a window (sold with that text) so i jumped thinking spare part:all i need now is innards that can be found.

Seller ffers me a complete set for what they were going for 3 yrs ago...

My nOOblet analysis was that the bare polished alum body was the result of a std body being cut and threaded,so no biggie.

And well,it was advertised as a MODIFIED AVS after all...

And why would I be taking that deal public when people are ready to pay 3x,4x what they are worth, you keep it low profile and buy it then...the deal was mine and i jumped on it.

See,fakes are not just a by-product of lack of availability, its also a by-product of how GG pieces are handled in ECF market..get them no matter the costs.

In my case it was somethign I was looking for at a price that was more than reasonable.

I know its a fake.

What a drag Martin.

Well nothing is without flaw.... you always take a risk when venturing into the unknown... it then broadens tho odds and makes it more like gambling then.

In essence.... I guess its all up to just how deep one is willing to go to get what they want.

There was a time or two a few weeks back I almost felt compelled to jump on an offer or two, whether real / fake or way overpriced.... my patience prevailed and I am thankful I had the discipline to contain myself and keep me from feeling grief afterwards.

The more mistakes you make the better one should learn.... as you stated in the beginning of your post "easier said than done" - but at least having the awareness is a head start.

Peace-

Doesnt matter, somebody somewhere sometime will have pity on me and offer me a genuine GG AVS I just wont be able to refuse,I am pretty sure of that.

I mean,arent they obsolete anyways?

:)

Martin.... Karma is a biotch!

Good things come back to those who put it out there..... and the same is true for the opposite....

Someone will get sandbagged with a sack of horse manure...... somewhere..... you just have to believe....

Good on ya bud..... hang tight!

Peace-
