I found out something interesting about the M401. First time using VG and thought it sucked. It turns out that the outer cart was getting two loose and air was getting in. Couldn't understand it had juice on the atty wick but very little vapor. I put the inner cart in a new outer cart and strong vapor. I love the M series mass vapor from a mini!

Has Anyone Ever tried Adding a Drop Or Two Of Water To A Cartridge Just To Re-Damp It ?
Not really a good idea, in my opinion.

Water does not vaporize at these temperatures.
It will most likely shut your atomizer down and make you think it doesn't work anymore.

When I clean my atomizers I have to let them dry a long time or they don't work very well.

Thanks For Telling Me About Water Not Vaporizing... I Got My "Smoking Everywhere GOLD ecig" Yesterday. So Far The Cartridges Seem To Only Last The Equivalent To MAYBE (1) Cigarette ... I have used all 5 catridges already & I just got kit yesterday...

Cartridges certainly don't last as long as the advertisements claim, but they should be lasting a lot longer than a cigarette, so I assume you are taking many drags consecutively, like a real cigarette, and are now having wicking issues and you just THINK that it is out of juice.

So I suggest to pull the filler out of one of the cartridges and see if it is dry or if there is still a bunch of liquid in it towards the bottom half. If so, then you need to read this thread again.

It may sound weird, but it works. I got the 102 mini and I can remove the liquid cart from what looks like the filter of a cig. I guess they call it an inner cart.
I use a face cleaning pad and take it apart (making two halves). I then cut a strip the length of the cart and just wide enough that the width will cover the opening at the top.
I then fill the cart all the way with liquid and put the strip in---pushing it all the way in to get it saturated (it looks like it shrinks because it loses its fluffiness). Then, using a paper clip, I stretch it out and check the liquid (cart is clear so I can see how much is in it).
Normally, the cart is still about half full, but if not I add more liquid. I use the same strip a few times so when I refill, I have to take the strip pretty much all the way out.
Anyway the first time, or in refilling, once I'm happy with the liquid level, I have a little bit of the strip sticking out the top. I use the paper clip to hold it in place on one side of the opening while I use a finger to bend just enough of the strip to cover the opening. Sometimes I have to stretch it a bit to get the width right because it shrank, but not often.
Yes, I have loose liquid in the cart but the part covering the hole keeps it in and the rest of the length acts as sort of a wick.
Surprisingly, I’ve never had a leeching problem, but we are talking the 102 which the battery has a constant low power flow going to the atty at all times so that there is no pre puffing to get vapor.

Remember I'm talking about a mini, and I carry three around with me, but this will last me the whole day.
I’ve also used this method on my 901 cart. It’s just a bit more difficult and if I don’t puff gently at first to kick start the battery, I will get liquid in the mouth..

I wonder what people here might think about this. I have pure cotton eye-glass cleaning tissues from LensCrafters. As far as I know they are just cotton, nothing else because other things may dissolve with glass-cleaning fluid and get on lenses...as far as I know.

So I tried doing a roll-up thing like the tea-bag method. With a the straw mod, these cartridges are REALLY nice!! No paper taste that I can tell. Of course I am still new to this vaping scene, so my taste buds may not be fully reactivated yet, but they are picking up far more than a week ago, for sure!

I add fluid through the straw with a blunt needle syringe. Works great! No bubbles. You have to play with the size of sheet you roll up, so to be not too big, or small, but it rolls up by using just fingers easier than a TB.

It makes for a really well-behaved cart. So far no charring with my 510, and no additional taste.

Thoughts?

I have pulled out the filler/cotton like material of the cartridges. Althought they are damp, there is NO surplus of liquid below them... I also seem to have another problem. After about 2-5 puffs the LCD light starts blinking & ceases to quit working, while even tho I am new to this I am getting the feeling that its not getting hot enough...After the LCD stops blinking I can hit it again after waiting a few seconds... All I know Is I have yet to get a Nice Smokey Hit like I see in all the videos & I have gone through all 5 cartridges that came with it...What really makes me mad is that even the sub-standard vapor hits & the non-menthol starter cartridges still allowed me to go all day without 1 real cigarette & I smoke a Pack Of Newports a day. So I know this is Something I Must make work but just gotta figure out whats wrong...

Sounds like you have an automatic battery.

If so, I suggest practicing in front of a mirror.
The goal is to get the LED to come on and stay on as long as you can.
So you vary how hard your draw is and practice until you figure out what it wants.

Or you could buy a manual battery, depending on what model you have.

Sounds like the automatic batt on my greensmoke. Try taking a few rapid short drags. I found I can get a bit more before the battery goes into "that's enough for now!" mode, and shuts off for several seconds.

What was the brand of e-cig?

I had the same thought about "packing."

In a way the E-cig works a bit like a Zippo lighter. When desperate I could squeeze out one more light by turning it upside down and shaking it or hitting the bottom.

Sometimes it helps if you scream "WORK!" at the top of your lungs. :D

-Gooney0

LOL! I can think of other things I would like to scream, given the FDA war at present, but I digress...

One thing I am finding out about the 510 is that if the atty gets flooded it can tend to leak juice through the vent holes, making fingers sticky and vest pockets spotted! 8-o I'm learning to have a paper towel in the back pocket for such events, which seem to be more often than I would like.

Hope the 510 is working its magic on your analog cravings. I would n't worry about having the nic levels up in the beginning...you are metaprogramming the brain away from many different physical and chemical habits. Keep us posted! Another ex-BT slave is another victory in this battle.

I have 2 different types of E-Cigs at the moment and with any luck that's all I will ever need, each has it's own operational quirks.

The Dragon that I have is great for dipping rather than dripping, with dripping you are letting the liquid run down into the battery destroying the battery over time. What i do is put about 10-15 drops of liquid into a contact lens carry case, one of those plastic jobs that you can get for $3 just about any CVS or something. It's much easier and cleaner than dripping and it is even possible to dip while driving, something I don't recommend but if you must I would rather people dip than drip while driving.

The 510 design makes dipping impossible but you can drip with that and be done with carts. I still haven't made up my mind about dripping with the 510 maybe I drip too much on it because it seems to me I am just making it gurgle rather than smoke better. The carts hold a lot more juice and are so much easier to fill than the m401 style like the Dragon that I just buy some Fluval from a pet store and that stuff is perfect for the 510 carts. You can cut it just the right size to slide right in the hole perfectly.

So in short, m401 and other types that present the atomizer on the outside you can easily dip rather than drip, and for the 510 and other hidden style atomizers dripping and filling with Fluval as replacement filler works great. I would almost say that the Fluval is actually a better filler than the polyfil that is used to start with. Fluval is also a great replacement filler for m401 style E-cigs as well. It is cheap and easily available.

Am also a 401 user and have noticed that the liquid do tend to go way down to the battery. Which sucks badly cause i love my 401. But i hate the filler omg am so upset with it once i took it out and burned it with a match believe i said "DIEEEEEEE" but i had no choice but to start dripping or dipping..Just would try to be a little more carefull now cause of my my extra batterys is acting up already. Hope i can find Lipton PTB soon..

After vaping on a cart for a while and then getting that funky taste of a dying cartdrige I peeked inside and noticed the filler was pushed way back into the cart. I "packed" it against my hand to bring it out a little more, thus bringing more wetness to the atty...and it tasted better with more vape.. Ive been packing the whole thing from time to time (LED side down on my palm) and I swear this seems to draw some liquid towards the atty and push the filler closer making better vape.

Does anyone else do this or am I just smoking something??

Get it?? SMOKING SOMETHING??

Get it? Not often enough but thats another story LOL I was wondering if you were using manual batts or auto?

You may want to be careful with the packing move - the electronics in the battery are not shock resistant - over time you may damage it - :)

Especially when they drop right out of your lips on to the floor cause your cart doesnt fit tight anymore. I dont get it? Why are my carts "shrinking" after just a few days? When I got these new (new to me) 2pc 901 carts from TW they were a tight fit and now they hardly stay on. Anyone? I have a bad habit of holding my ecig between my lips and/or teeth when Im vaping if I need my hands for something really quick. Now my carts are so loose that my eciggie will slide right off and smack on the floor. Bad...very bad. Bye bye battery :(

You probably have a high bridge atomizer. Look at the low bridge atomizer for better wicking.
joye302 wicks great, so does the bestecigs be112

I got some of those high bridge 801 attys and I hated it. They totally squish the filler material down waaaay to much for my taste. It seems that if I filled my cart like i normally did, then push it on the atty, all i got for the first 3 or 4 vapes was juice in my mouth....alot. I was going to order some low bridge ones instead. Never had that problem with those and I filled my carts just as full. Anyone ever have that problem with excess juice with those high bridge attys?

Sounds like you need to learn about the "straw mod". Use the search feature of the forum and search for it. It will knock your socks off.

Could someone post a link to a good thread describing the Straw Mod. I used the search feature, but "straw mod" appears in about 5 million threads, and I really gave up about two pages in on the search results.

Thanks for any help on this!
