Born and and raise in NYC, I was until today a true New Yorker, Someone who does not always see the good in people or for that matter does not see people as good in general.
So today I stand here bewildered as to why, why would someone do for a stranger something good or anything at all.
I mention more then a few times that I wanted a Janty stick, I really wanted a Janty stick and I was willing to trade a unit I have for one but I could not find someone who was willing to trade, so the story should end here but It doesn't.
Today I opened my mailbox and....there it is a Janty stick! and not just a stick but an atty, two batts, and a case as well.

Was it a miracle?

Was it divine intervention?

NO!
It was a good person doing something good for someone else, someone he doesn't even know and what did this person want in return???
Nothing!
thats right nothing at all, but what he did tell me was this
"pay it forward"
So if you were like me and believe that people don't do nice things unless there is something in it for them Then you like me are WRONG!

So I say Thank you Bite me you are the genuine article and from now I will live by the words you burned into my memory

PAY IT FORWARD!!

How did this "stranger" get your address? Lol. I'm sure you were expecting it. Kind of like the girlfriend who goes "Ooooooh pretty bracelet in the window!" while out with her boyfriend ..... Mmmmmhmmm .... :p
I gave him my address.
But did I think i was really going to get a stick .......I dont know.
People talk a lot of crap on the internet you tell anyone anything, doesnt make it true, But to have someone step up and be true to their word is just awesome!

OH by the way The stick ROCKS!!!

You couldn't be more off-base with this comment. :(

A fair number of us who've been vaping for awhile actually *know* each other. I have the real name and addresses for quite a few folks, although, I'm quite sure none of them are expecting any gifts from me.

However, now that I've read Tone's post, I'm kind of thinking that the idea is a good one . . . .

Thanks for the nice story . . . I'm a sucker for a happy story.

Growing up In NYC I'm a lil jaded but this is one of those things that just.........really make you think that you have it all wrong.

Now all you have to do Tone is pay it forward. Find the deserving sole who is in need. Send the mod you were willing to trade for the stick on to that person, which is the true meaning of pay it forward. Always remember a debt owed is a debt owed. I owed a debt for 20 years. FINALLY a week ago I found the right person, I thought worthy. MY debt owed is finally PAID IN FULL.

Thanks for the story Tone. It does my heart good to hear these things. I too, have become more cynical of the goodness in people over the years. I know there are great folks out there, I don't always get to meet them and sometimes want to be one of them but don't always know how.

In our society there's so much focus on 'me, me, me' it's nice to hear when folks think of others and do something selfless.

+1 for humanity

I'm all about paying it forward. I pay it out more often than I receive and I don't care. But going out on the internet giving out your address is (1) stupid and (2) must of been done knowing you were getting something out of it.

If you didn't think so, then you are dumb and will one day fall victim to a serial killer on a senseless rampage. I hope you don't teach your kids or future kids to give out their addresses so easily (especially any daughters).

Argue with me, but in the end all know that I am right.
