Meh... So long as a certain orangutan makes it home in one piece, there will be monkey poo a plenty! And hey... That orangutan won't have to pay anything extra to make his juice since, once again, the stuffy chaps up on capital hill have exempted premium cigars.

This is nothing more than the powers that be trying to make money.

Where there is a will, there is a way.... FDA always paves that way.... It is our job to find the shortcuts.

Kevin my friend, have you read the proposed regulations yet? I am on page 140 of 241 and there is the distinct possibility that all products derived from tobacco will be covered including premium cigars. In any case, anyone making or modifying a tobacco product and selling it regardless of how or what will be a manufacturer and subject to all the requirements of any tobacco manufacturer. Those requirements would be impossible for anyone but a large firm with large $ to do. Even if it contains no nicotine the documents and lab reports to show that it contains no nicotine have to be submitted or else it is a tobacco product as far as the FDA is concerned. And even if they give an exemption then it still has to bear the warning "This product is derived from tobacco".

The lone positive thing I have ran across is that "covered tobacco products" will be treated consistent with cigarettes and smokeless tobacco "In current part 1140, FDA imposes restrictions on cigarettes and smokeless tobacco, but not on the components, parts, and accessories of such products. FDA believes that applying the minimum age and identification restrictions to covered tobacco products only (and not to the components and parts that do not contain nicotine or tobacco) would be sufficient to protect the public health, because youth will not be able to use such components and parts and potentially suffer the consequences without also obtaining the covered tobacco product. In the event that FDA determines it is appropriate for the protection of the public health to extend the restrictions in part 1140 to components and parts that do not contain nicotine or tobacco in the future, the Agency will issue a new rulemaking and provide notice and opportunity to comment on such proceeding."

There are 101 more pages for me to read. :tumble:

CASAA is still evaluating it and might be for awhile before giving it's comments to vapers.

Every vaper should read this and after people that can read legalize better and have our interests in mind give their comments make appropriate comment to the FDA during the stakeholder comment period.

if there is no nicotine - it is by definition not a tobacco product! There is no requirement to prove it, anymore than tapwater has to prove it contains none! Tomatoes are in for a torrid time and aubergines, public enemy #2.

Don't try to inject common sense, this is the government and they are here to help.

(Candy cigarettes didn't contain nicotine either)

I hope you're wrong too. The Florida legislature just voted on a bill here that banned under 18 independent of the Fed... but had language that could eventually be used to ban ALL online sales in Florida. I wrote a scathing letter to my Florida Rep... and had to sign my mom's name to it because he and my husband have been feuding for years, and would have voted yes just to spite him if he knew it was me. But you know the taxes are coming... that tax collecting alone is going to hurt small businesses tremendously.

Gotta love politics. The tobacco money is too much not to source elsewhere. It is what it is though. We shall see.

Option 1 does not exclude premium cigars.

it does unless they are flavoured!

You couldn't make it up could you??? LMFAO!

Oh well then: 'hello officer, here's a highly modded device that was not available in 2007 and new laws mean i feel duty bound to turn it in to you'

'... is it?'

'oh it's a mod'.....

All those guys using tubes are going to be mortified!

Today's mail: a bill from HRH's dentist.

This is pure bollocks - i am waiting on Reo SO kit, Capella liquids, TFA gear, various other odds and ends. HRH is waiting for something called "chocolate sprinkles" that she tells me she eats on toast in the morning, coming from Holland (i'm not sure of the veracity of her statement, but i lack the language skills to call outright lie).

Mailman had better get his backside in gear tomorrow!

Yep, chocolate sprinkles on toast. A great invention from across the pond. Still have it from time to time.

So, good news, HRH, is not lying, in Dutch or English!

Yes sir it is.

I'm sure they've always stated so on their Web site, but it's down right now for maintenance, so I can't verify. At least I'm sure they mentioned that their protected batteries had Sony somewhere in there - perhaps in the protection circuit? (And no, I didn't buy them for vaping)

ETA: Nevermind. My orbies are Panasonic batteries with Seiko protection circuits.

Hi Dready! sorry i've been out of the NT circulation ( dunno where to go! ) . anyway, always glad to help!

the only trick is to position the coil higher to be inline with the AFC hole. You can also screw out the bottom so it'll bottom out sooner. I've been using mine as is. The AFC cap is in contact with one o-ring only and it's tight enough to prevent leaks. I also put a bit of cotton cloud under the coil since it's higher. PM me if you need more help!

Hey Val. The folks over in the NT thread told me you were able to fit an AFC cyclone onto a regular Reo grand. Most say it won't work. What's your trick?
