Hey GG we need to work on your ohm meter. . 8 should not pop a fuse you ohm meter would read very low. When I shorted the atty I just got to test on the meter I just got from a CoOp it read .18

My guess is you had a hard short and after you pulled to test the coil moved enough that is was no longer shorted.

Well... pdib brought up something else... maybe when I 'loosened' the screw, I twisted the fuse? The thing's thinner than a butterfly wing... can I straighten it back out and reuse the fuse:)? It's not broken, just twisted...

you can staighten. should be fine. (if anything, it'd blow sooner or deliver less current . .. but I don't think it's unsafe)

Also, glass, my apologies. I made a hasty assumption. When I built that coil (weeks ago), I told you it was almost touching the cap. When I decided to leave it in there for you to try it .. . . . I didn't mention it again.

I've read that 'modders mod' description... but now that I have one, I have to say, that's just wrong.

This is the least modable mod made... because it's already as streamlined as it's going to get, with minimal improvement possible or necessary. What are you going to mod on it? Why would you pay the highest price for a wood mod on the market today, so you can 'mod' the design?

The modders mod is a Bogger box, that's got so much wrong with it that ANYTHING you do to it will be an improvement:). You can mod the heck out of that, because it's got room to mod. There's no room to mod much here... what are you going to change:)?

The description is more this a Mod a modder will truly apreciate as all the parts are tweak able, and to get to your sweet spot may need tweaking.

The entire current path is wide open for any material, the button/switch is open to magnets/different spring materials, the fuse is optionally bypassed, and if one were to want thumbprint scanning mosfet current switching it's not totally insane of an idea with today's electronics. Point is it was designed to be improved/changed if someone was so inclined to do so. :p

What high cost maintenance? I wipe the contact points with some Eezox® once a week or so. It did take a little while to get used to the stiff suspension (in the fire button) but it's all good. And as for special gas, well, OK, I'm running some $20/bottle juice in my DiBi. :D

Touche, maybe that part could've been left out. :)

Of course that's insane. Who needs a thumbprint scanning mod?

The Dibi is PERFECT! The only thing missing is that card I mentioned earlier:p.

I'll weigh in since i had mine since run #1. It has been cleaned twice, by which i mean i wiped the top, pulled the firing button apart (cos i had new gear for it) and renoaloxed that. If it was really dirty i'd rub the copper leaf in the middle of the Dibi with a pencil eraser i stole from work and the brass screw under the battery with a bit of scratch (sandpaper).

I never ran mine with a fuse anyway, but i found i can shell those fuses with a sharp craft knife in my vice in seconds with 3 cuts.

The silver firing pin is much better than the original one - there is a tangible difference in the speed of the coils heating and the vape is a lot hotter.

I leave the same fat o-ring in the top of the battery tube regardless and just adjust the button throw a little if it fires constantly.

I carry whatever i am using in a phone case on my belt - it has stopped me dropping Reos all day long, and so far the only time i have dropped the Dibi is in the footwell of my car when braking for some redneck ahole that thinks turn signals are not applicable if you have flames painted on your truck!

Someone with kids around? I like the stiff spring for that reason. I do make every attempt possible to keep it out of reach but you know, somehow they figure out how to get on top of the fridge. :D

Oooh... good point! When mine were small, I woke up one night to find that my 3 year old had piled up FOUR baby chairs on top of each other, and was precariously teetering at the very top, trying to get in a cabinet... omfg... to this day I can't figure out how he stacked those chairs, let alone how he got on top of them...

A thumbprint switch may not be so out there after all (tho THAT would have just tempted both of them to hide it under their beds to crack it):p.

or cut your thumb off when you're asleep!

I know what young kids are like, since my mother once had to suffer the indignity of telephoning the school to say young Trunky would not be in since he had found 3/4 of a bottle of sherry.

i was 7.

But in any event, drinking eliquid is still safer than bleach (unless HRH mixes it!)

On the Provari, check with the Atomizer ohms function... exactly 13 button presses in... it will check sub ohms fine, I accidentally built a .6 and it read it (am using a Provari 2.0, traded away my 2.5 for the Reo Grand... they did do SOMETHING to the circuitry differently in 2.5, not sure what).

Both of mine are 2.5s. I can't say for certain if I've tried both, but at least one of them doesn't work for me.

Battery rattle and business card... I remember that convo from a while back now!!! Great idea! Just tried it... and as Super suggested, the humidity here is closing the gap by itself... now it's literally a sheet of paper thickness... it's all better:). What's great about that is you can print out your name, addy, phone #, email and REWARD for finding it on the paper if you lose it anywhere too:).

Great idea! I'm going to strategically cut one of my own cards next battery change.

As for the fugly Bogger Box, it's now quite lovely (no thanks to the guy who made it with a big wood knot hole in the middle-what was he thinking?!):). All my mods are quite different, and I like them all for different reasons. Good thing I never got into collecting pokemon cards or I'd have a few million by now...

I don't name my mods... I'm pretty creative, but I've never been great about naming things. But if you want a descriptive list of bottom feeder wood mods in 4 words or less:

Dibi - sophisticated, sleek, silk, unique
Woodvil- functional, comfortable, rugged, flannel
Bogger Box- big, bold, brassy, boxy, crayons
Phidias- rustic, charming, traditional, burlap

Wow, nice way to describe them. It's nice knowing I started my bottom feeding from the top. :)

Oh - she's on Facebook, but anything vape related is my problem. Now and then she'll sidle over to look at pics of the latest gear, but by and large she is uninterested in it all as long as her stuff works

You don't need to have a thumb scanner on your dibi. You just need to make sure that the base screw isn't in so when they press down really hard to move the button, the bottom cap and the battery fall out.
:D
