Well, I just dropped an email to one of the stabilized wood distributors with whom I'd spoken before. If they agree to try and supply a little more product in the sizes we'll be wanting, I'll be sure to drop a link in here. There's stuff out there to be found; but it would be nice to have a "go-to guy/gal" with some variety ready to ship. We'll see.

couldn't have been me - i just rewicked my R41 coil - i really ought to have taken a pic of it after 2 weeks! But if you imagine black sludge ...

I was going to rebuild it but after 3 good scrubs (with HRH's toothbrush - hahaha!) it's fine again!

Now i need you to get your finger out and make something for me to exploit its full potential on

I'm hoping dinner tonight is a big one - i am now in so much trouble.

Fact is, it was just pure luck finding that particular block with the correct dimensions. I've seen lots of beautiful dyed/stabilized blocks but most don't have the correct measurements. I suspect because they are all intended for knife handles. Check all the the burl source web sites often. You could get lucky like I did.

This. I've been trying to get the right piece of stabilized for months - still no luck. Most pieces in the right color range are too small. What I've been doing is putting in my requests with several different companies and asking them to contact me when the burl becomes available. I'll report back if this approach proves successful.
