Ok, if super_X got Pdib started down the BF road, what got super_X going down the BF road? Was it a person, or through looking for a better vape?

Wall of text warning :

Both of the above. I think in my first post on ECF I wrote that I thought I had some pretty decent setups for home and out situations (I had a volcano inferno and V2 cigs :)) and Caridwen heard my silent cry for help and suggested bottom feeders.

At this point I thought that all there was was cigalikes and tubesteaks. I had thoroughly read all of vapegirl's webpage while I rocked my V2s, upgraded to the "hard hitting" inferno and aspired for the "pro-scary" that she deemed the bestest bestest mod available to mankind.

But I always hated the tubesteaks. They are the most unmanly deal. It felt downright weird to use one. Besides the carto tank was a leak just waiting to happen :).

This is too funny - at one point I was about to buy some Vivi Novas too :)

Bottom feeders you say? What are these? Vapegrl never mentioned them on her website?

So here I was armed with new info and I started to research in ECF. Okay. Narrowed it to Vmod or REO mini 2.0. Pulled the trigger on the blem 2.0 and have never looked back.

Luckily it only took me like a month to get pointed at BF's. I can't thank Caridwen enough.

Then after about 4 months of cartos on my REO 2.0, I got my first RBA (a hornet) then a week or so later I got my first Grands (one of which was sent to pdib) and my first chalice.

There, that about sums it up :)

I wish I had listened to SXD and Dibby when I first started. Thankfully, most of my tubes sold. I did keep a few that hold a special place in my ....... Err... Heart... Like my juggernaut.

I only have 2 tubes now - a sigelei which, in 18350 mode is a great little stealth vape with a dripper on it, and my first real non-cigalike mod - a Silver Bullet, which is still a great device (if a little large).
The bullet is used mainly for dry burning coils, but with a fogger tank on it, it's the size of a Saturn V rocket.

The other 10 mods are bottom fed.

I am horrified at the amount of time i spent trying to get a non-leaky, reliable vape from a tank, not to mention the expense.

I still love my PTs with rebuilt heads and I prefer my ADV in the PT but everything else tastes better in the BF gear. Of course I'm the PT whisperer so they are always golden for me. I have sooooo many from folks who could never get them to work well.

Yeah, you do have a few, don't you?

There should be a sticky in the beginners forum that links them straight to bottom feeders.

The thing is most noobs (me included) would panic at a $200 price tag, even though i spent more than that on cigarettes. The married noobs among us also have to get that kind of expenditure past the bouncer of the wallet, HRH!

I used to rebuild my Nova heads and that's when i decided RBAs were the ticket, without the tank- and i cannot drip all day at work, so it has to bottom feed.

Gennies were fun - i could waste an afternoon rolling mesh and picking at hotspots.

i have 14 RM2s and various other RBAs, which is just as well, since HRH hoards them and then dumps the lot on me in one go. Yesterday i recoiled 4 for her.

But she likes the Monkey Poo, which gunks her coils up after a week. Since i rebuild them she is also quite happy to go "oh - i just don't like the taste of this one - make a new one Trunky".

That's a good idea Borescoped, and i only recommend Ego type setups for noobs, because they are not sure they can stick with vaping and don't want to drop a lot of cash on something that they won't stick with.

Two people at my work now vape and when it rains, the smokers are rather envious at me swanning around leaving contrails.

Sounds like its time to get a few ego's to pass around to see f folks that you know that smoke might get interested in changing over to vaping!

I just did that for a student last week. I gave her two egos, a charger, five new iClear 16's and six bottles of juice I had in higher nic. She was blown away! I hope she likes it! She's 60 something and has smoked a pack plus a day since she was 15...

Megan is quite the vaping ambassador already. People send her pt heads to rebuild for them. She shares everything, except her adv.

While there are those of us that enjoy higher level gear, I don't knock ego's as a good way to let someone try out vaping. Hell, my Squadron commander lent me one of his ego's with a ce4 to use while my first kit from volcano was being shipped.

Got a few of my guys at work off cigs by showin them my old ego setup and ego batteries with evod's, that is what they use now still. But, they always wonder what kind of oddball stuff I'll be bringing in next to work. They looked at me funny with my REO, wait til they get a load of a OliveR when I get mine!
