I'm sure that if he wanted to broadcast it, he would have mentioned all this himself.

And if I wanted to be sure that everyone knew it was him, I would have mentioned him specifically.

pdib... I have only seen his posts. Was being amusing, without even thinking that some reasons may not warrant that.

spring does all the current. it's like upgrading the wiring in a circuit. I bought a bunch of different sized smaller springs one time, I don't remember specifically what material it is. I'll try to dig through emails and see if I can find the source

If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate it. :)

Meanwhile, I'm grooving on my little light-touch-1/2 toggle-doodad.

so wait, it's still available :) ah, I'd love it but this month was killer, a few misc cyclones and 2 woodvilles. one dibi, 2 chalices and a ti dna30 we2 turned this into my most expensive vape month ever... I need weeks to recover :)

Nothing to see here, move along. :p

Thats not expensive, that's "damn boy, back away from the credit card". You have to be single, cause my wife would kill me if that was my purchases in a month. Lol.

Well, as long as I'm ranting (not really), the thought crossed my mind that perhaps I should be the one to announce when any particular mod is no longer available . . . . . .

. . .. . . just a thought . .. . . . crossed my mind.

ha, not single but yeah, it's probably better she don't know I guess :p I'm done though now for a long time. well I still need the right atty for that we2 but then, then I'm done :)

ok I decided to go through this thing one more time for good measure. this time I filed the ends of the springs to shiny, cleaned up it's resting pads and noloxed every contact. I also replaced the aluminum? stock battery contact head and replaced it with brass. everyone should do this at least. filed the brass clean and flat and noloxed that too, cleaned and noloxed the battery ends.

this thing now hits like a freight train each and every time, after this post I gotta go change my wick I think I burned it just now :) the button press is smooth and not hard at all, it's actually almost soft and because it fires so well now it doesn't need to be pressed any harder than just making contact. this is now one serious mech. the trick is to use a stiffer spring but with minimal preload so the first bit of travel isn't too stiff and then adjusting it to a short throw. before I couldn't press it hard enough some times where now it's buttery soft smooth button action so the button is actually softer with this stiff spring than it was with the wimpy spring. the design of this mod as a seriously hard hitting mech is awesome just needs minor tweaking at the button.

as it is now with this button upgrade it's really really good. adding a gold plated spring and upper button seat would make it absolutely perfect. really ingenious design here man, after playing with it a bit I see it's really perfect as is, copper plate and all. also the more I think about you're idea of the center shaft being attached to the base the more I like it. that can be done really even if you stick with the magnets too. post attached at the bottom and if the upper pad of this shaft was a flat brass button it would just remove that last week link and make this thing epic

Dang it, here I am saving every last dollar right now for this IVF treatment, and one of those flip-flapping gegaw widget doodle OliveR's pops up available the very next post after I went to sleep last nite LOL.

Oh well, in time I will be called up by The Pdib to place the order, and hopefully with a successful IVF already done, so I can get mine (both the device, and the baby). Patience Borescoped!

Y'all are making me wish I had one too! (a fancy one, I mean)

Speaking of which . .. .

So, what if I were to tell you all that #0002 may become available? I say "may" because I'm considering keeping it for myself. The friend who bought it, as a beta tester, finds he isn't using it much. Rather than have it sit on the shelf, he wants to sell it back to me and let me do with it as I please. (He's very considerate, nay downright nice, he is.) He's already sent it to me.

The mod's been used in a humid environment. The copper has a full patina. It looks like it could've been found in a trunk in Grampa's attic. (I mean that in a good way, if anyone's into old/antique looking gear, this one fits the bill.) I could spruce it up. Heck, I could refinish it. So, it's kin'a special in that, if one were to desire it as a functional collector's item, they could choose to; take it as it is (looking very much like a piece of history), or have me do a minor refinishing (get it all shiny n' stuff), or have me completely refinish it. If I did that, it would/could be a Natural Seward Park Maple Burl (looking more like the others I've made). I have it, I've examined it, fired it, it works great.

Here's a pic from when I first made it. click on this pic and it'll take you to the gallery for this unit. (I'll post a slideshow link below too).

If anyone's interested, give me a holler.

(btw: this one I'll sign and # if requested)

Holler given, but I'm afraid I'm too late ;)

That's more noaloxing than i used to do on a Reo, Turbo!

But i do have a new spring to try which looks promising. I was going to go with the heavy duty spring too since i have just adjusted my Dibi to take any of my batteries with just a differing length push on the fire button. I'm running my weekend atty now - so i have to use 30A batteries.

..............I also replaced the aluminum? stock battery contact head and replaced it with brass. .............

tcad, do me a favor and try it with the original aluminum blind screw (contact head). I just don't see how the brass could be better than the aluminum since aluminum is right at twice the conductivity of brass. (Aluminum about 60% and brass about 30% as good as copper) I would bet it is the rest of what you have done that accounts for the difference.

Edit: clean the aluminum first as aluminum oxide is a poor conductor and that is the main reason we sparky's use Noalox on clean aluminum wire before we terminate it.

.........I know I'll be vaping or smoking the rest of my life.......

Afraid that I fall into that same category. This forum and all you great people are my smokers anonymous chapter.

Goodness, just noticed in my sig that I am almost at a full year without a cancer stick! Went from 1 or 2 PAD to using Green Smoke for about a month and still smoking 5 or so a day then to 0 when I got my Evic, Protank, and 36 juice. That day is the one I am counting in my sig. Seems like yesterday.
