I need... Some good news guys.
My ex is trying to bring my son to school and put him in daycare rather than let him be with family, because she says it would take time away from her. It's all about control and keeping me from being considered the custodial parent... She goes to school for acting, she doesn't work, but she thinks IM the one taking time away from her. She brings this guy around him constantly....
We just got in a huge screaming match about the daycare thing, and I need to find a good lawyer. My son needs better than this.
I'm frustrated and upset and I need some good news. Help? Anyone?! Lol

Sorry to hear that MoN. i went thru years of similar crap my last divorce.

you definitely need a good attorney, but while searching for one, you can post questions on avvo dot com and attorneys from your state will answer them for free. i have found it useful for strategizing.

Well.... not really a good news thing, but perhaps a perspective. It really does suck that you are going through this, but, at least you have a son! Once he's of age, he'll probably understand what has gone on. And, you'll never stop being his father. Ever. I agree with 73neb, get a good lawyer, as much as you can afford, document things also, ad nauseam. Stay above reproach, and be the bigger person.

Cheer up! It could be worse, you could be me right now! I've just had and AWESOME weekend.... not.

I've never been divorced... so can't help you there... but I think this is one of those situations where a good lawyer might make a huge difference. Do you have any divorced friends locally who can steer you to a good lawyer (base this on their OUTCOME... no one cares how nice they think the lawyer was)?

Maybe write out what's happening w/ a timeline to bring to a preliminary meeting... stick to facts, and consult with several divorce lawyers before picking one (this keeps the consult time down maybe). See what info gathering you can do on your own... get receipts/dates from the Daycare showing how much time your child is spending there, etc.

If you are working full time and have $$, and she doesn't... you should have a small edge in ability to fight her in court.

So sorry this is happening to you.

just finished testing a piece of wood that Mark sent to me. It's Australian Ringed Gidgee. I'm very happy with it. It's beautiful. And it has a tremendous hardness and resilience; yet I can still work it with my tooling. Watch for that stuff at his site.
