I once lost 3 months of work due to a hard disk failure on an IBM XT - it just happened to be a finals dissertation, and all i have to say is staying up for 36 hours to replicate the work is interesting when you can see things climbing walls.

64k is enough as soon as you think in machine code, and until i can do that i'm quite happy to use HRH's and my combined 9Tb of disk space. Make an animation and see how far 64k gets you! ;)

I just made a wick by grinding walnut shells to a fine paste mixed with distilled water. I then folded that into (50/50) diatomaceous earth and formed tiny little crescents and baked at 275 for half an hour. I take three of these crescents and position them in a little row (tip of one to concave center point of next). Then I wrap them in a single layer of cotton underpants fabric (ladies . . . . . not mens). Slide that into a tight micro coil. You should try it. It's great! :|

Just catching up... what a GREAT day I had:)!!! I know I'm late, but that was funny and made me laugh:)!

Hope your great day was really great, enough to cancel out my bad day. Missed promotion by 1 question.

That's great! 2 on one day, you were jobbing out!

Last year, promotion rate was 18%, and I figured it would go down this year, something like 14%, but it dropped to 11%. I scored pretty high also, but just short.

Well... that must be a UK thing... I don't see many people in the US getting annual 18% raises, or being disappointed with a 11% raise. We still have people here working full time jobs and supporting families on $7.25 an hour, which is criminal when the poverty level in the US is $11.06/hour, and taxpayers must subsidize their food while they work like slaves full time.

So while it's not exactly what you wanted, be glad you got a raise:).

If we had the same wages you guys at the other side of the pond get, we'd all be rich in my country. :D

Over here, the minimum wage is around $10... PER DAY! Some are even paid less. They too support their own families.

I'm not British, I'm American, in the military.

Haha I just saw his post at the Reo thread and I was about to reply he posted his DiBi/OliveR on the wrong thread when I realized it was a Woodville.

Nice ancient mods Xobe! :)
That's funny... I also thought it was Xobeloot's DiBi/OliveR over at Reoville after seeing it here. Had to go back for a double take :)

Sorry my reply was for Glassgal. :)

I understood what you meant by promotion rate, but I thought it was in a corporate environment rather than a military one.

Sorry to hear you missed out. I hope you'll get another opportunity.
