I fell asleep with it in my hand... I woke up with it on the floor.

Surgery round 1 complete. Used dermabond (flexible superglue) from my medic bag... Going to take a bit more elbow grease to get the residual rubber-like goo off, but other than that, not much more I can do.

To anybody wanting to use this type of super-coarse grained wood: it looks amazing, but it truly is an antique. Consider the entire thing one bump away from splintering to pieces.

Turbo's penny in the bottom of it is looking like a worthwhile mod. Depressing Xobe. Pretty good looking repair though.

Xo, did you have the bottom screw in? I have been keeping mine in except to clean every other week or so then back in it goes.

Yeah. Bottom screw was in. This wood is like glass though

I'll add one too. Swirl will probably be stronger than curl. More resilient, anyway. Curl is organized, and in organized structures, there's patterns of both strength and weakness. . . . . . . . . . probably .. . .. . . much of the time . . . . . . maybe.

Awesome... it's great to know that Swirl is a stronger grain than Curl, except for those times when it's not. It's like the decision is already made for me. Now I just have to find a curly swirly block of dyed & stabilized petrified monkey dung and I'll be set.

I know I know, lol, but even before I gave in on the box mods I thought the dibis were gorgeous. That was just before the time when I was ready to give in and get high priced mods, I didn't even have an authentic tube mod yet and now I have both the CV1 Virtus and LE Red Copper Stingray, I don't think I even had my Provari yet.
