does any of that ↑ make sense? (sorry, but . . . . . . . been thinkin')

I’m trying to decode that message… am I right in assuming it can be translated to the following…

“I enjoy creating awesome mods so don’t rush me and you will eventually get one of these most beautiful creations”!

My peeps (present peeps, and future), I know it's exciting to think that Someone will say good things about something you're excited about (dare I say?), something that is special to you (dare I . ..?). And that "everyone" will want something that only a few people will have. I get excited about that; you know I do. I would be thrilled to have someone special say nice things about something I've worked so hard on.

however . . . . .. .

This is not what I've endeavored to create. The value here is in the thing you hold in your hand (or will be soon). It's in the beauty of the wood, and the energy that I focus on each particular mod. Some of you will know that I'll drop a line to ask whether you're left handed or right, or what your definition of "pink" or "red" is. Others will know that I'll think of you, and how it's going, long after the deal is done.

Having this thing "blow up" is an exciting thought; but not a rewarding consequence. Let's just all chill, and enjoy what we've got. As my dear uncle Jànos ("Jànos bacsi" to me) used to say (didn't. didn't even speak English): A pig in the ciderhouse is one thing, a hawk speaking Mandarin Chinese another. (←?)

I'm afraid it may well be a simple choice here; in that we can't have both. Personally, I can't see how I can devote the personal attention and skill (←full of himself) to each individual mod (which is what I think makes it special), and run any kind of degree of production that would meet the demand created by too much chatter and hype. And, too, also, to boot, as well, add this → . . . .. . I'm not interested. That's not what I'm interested in doing.

So, this is the "business" decision that I'm making right now: I'm not going there . . . .. . I'm staying here. This is just about some guy who loves to make stuff doing what he loves to do. I don't want to raise prices because of demand. I don't want to turn people down. I just want to make mods, and hopefully bring some little joy into a few people's day. I do want reasonable pay for an honest day's work (and I'm still not there yet, and we'll get into that another day, when I'm confident I can't go any faster, and I break out the abacus); but I don't want "that" to interfere with this little thang that you all and me got goin' on here . .. ... . my dear peeps.

So everybody shut up! (except for Kogijiki, cause she's queen, and it's cute when she does the )

i think so. your uncle spoke Mandarin and that pisses you off, right?

and, of course Kogijiki is freakin cute, but we all knew that...

did i miss anything?

I've been thinking myself

I was thinking, man I wish pdib would hire some folks and start turning these out quicker so I can get to vapin on mine in a month or so instead of next year. I want to have the Dibi experience now.

Then I thought, what makes these so special? Yes, they hit like a beast (or so Ive heard), yes they are beautiful but there's more...

I love music, there's nothing I enjoy more than listening to a great guitarist. Some are technically perfect and can play with amazing speed and precision. I enjoy that, but the guitarists I enjoy most, no matter the genre, are the ones who's soul you can feel by listening. When the song plays, you feel the emotion as they are experiencing it while playing. SRV, Derek Trucks, BB King, Randy Rhoades all, IMO, are in this category. It's an intangible, like catching lightening in a bottle time after time. It's something they are born with inside, a gift from God, and refined through countless hours of blood, sweat and tears.

This is the same feeling I get when looking at Peters pics, just seeing them I can feel the care and love that went into them and I can only imagine how much stronger it will be when mine is in hand.

All that to say, yes it makes perfect sense to me. I will moan and groan about the wait and tell you to put your nose to the grindstone to hurry up and get them out and complain when something else takes you away from making mods but what I really want is for you to take your time and continue turning out mods which are born of your soul. I can get a hard hitting, nice looking, mass produced mech anytime I want, my local shop has a great selection and Rob can get one out to me in a matter of days. There is a place for them and that is great, but the Dibi is so much more.

Sorry to run on, I need some coffee now :)

Well let me say I for one am clueless to what you mean but if I should ever say/do anything that goes against what you want here on your thread then feel free to verbally B__ slap me. I'm all about having fun and take very little seriously. :)

I think the gist of it is this:
NO%20PUBLICITY%20PLEASE%20CCard%202010%20cover%2075dpi.jpg

I think he wants to keep it off the front page of Rolling Stone so that this "thing" will remain quaint and accessible and special for all of us. Word of mouth 'll do for now.:)

Either that or he wants us all to start drinking heavily.

To do list:

1. Cancel book tour
2. Dont ask Pdib to write a book
3. Call Jason Alexander and tell him the movie adaptation is a no go. (Sorry Peter, he's all I could get with my budget.)
4. Dont screw up and admit that I would pay more for my next dibi if he needed to charge more.

Yes it absolutely makes sense. :)
It's a decision I made for myself about 10 years ago, I am an artist and I allowed myself to get talked into taking commissions. It became a job and I began to dread painting, my paints and brushes were put away and not touched for several years. I lost the joy in my artwork.

After a few years I started playing with digital art and was having a wonderful time until I started vaping. I then found out that my muse was a confirmed smoker and she abandoned me, I continue to search for a new muse who is a vaper but although I have interviewed hundreds I still can't seem to get back into my artwork.

I have people ask me for commissioned portraits or suggest that I sell my work and the answer now is no, I only paint or draw for my own pleasure. I will on occasion do a piece for another, but it is at my whim and only given as a gift.

If anyone should run into my muse please send her home, or if you should happen upon a dependable vaping muse please send them this way. :)

does any of that ↑ make sense? (sorry, but . . . . . . . been thinkin')

Claudia -- Your Muse must be hangin' with mine because I'm in that same situation. Haven't as much as done a charcoal drawing in 10 years. Those Muses are on the west coast prolly and beach bums by now! ;)

I spent the first 50 years of my life in So Cal and I think you may be right about where my muse is. I am thinking that since I moved to TN she got tired of all the "weather" we have here and after one tornado warning and cold winter too many she went back home. lol

Surely there must be a nice southeastern muse looking for a new home, somewhere out there. :)

Abstinence due to medical reasons (CPOD) about 4 months. Even sold some of my one of kind stabilized mods because I couldn't bare to see them not being used. With steady improvement and last testing my oxygen blood level was 98 so in moderation (no more 15ml a day chainvaping) I'mmmmmmmmmmmm Baaaaaaaaaack. :)
