You can just tell Peter to make it his choice and see what he has when your turn comes up...warning Rick, this does become a bit of a habit watching the runs go by and deciding that now you'll need two...or seven...

So have you got on the list yet? He has a list out to next year sometime...You know you wanna!!!

where do these purple trees grow?im in ohio and have NEVER seen such a thing!!!WOW!!

hummmmm.gif
purple trees...maybe OZ or Wonderland. Seriously I can appreciate mother nature's natural wood beauty with her soft natural and different colors plus the warmth you get from holding it in our hand. Unlike the stabilized bright color dyed wood which to me is more cold and stone like. I may lean toward stabilized wood only because of it's uniqueness. That said. in a debate which is better I'm willing to argue for either side because I'll always have a dog in both those fights. :D

Idk if it is this Rick you are referring to but yes, Peter will pick my wood for me. I'm way to obsessed with different knife scales to ever pic a wood for an OliverR Dibi. Ha!

Just wanted to stop in and say Hi to everyone :) I sucked up to pdib just enough to make the waiting list, but never fear
no human sacrifices were made on my behalf, I took my rightful place in line (dang)
This is what I looked like when I first saw pdibs art work  then it turned into :hubba: and I just knew I had to have
one of my very own so here I am, getting in on the wait, along side of some of you and dreaming through the story's
of the ones who already have their's. Just wanted to ask if anyone could tell me what number he is on now?

Yep, I understand...custom is custom. If it's not yours, then it's not yours:) Plywood ForTheWin!!!
Wait till my run, it's plywood all the way for me.
I love the smell of glue in the morning!!!
Honestly, I've been a little shied away with all the ultra drooling, incredible, cosmic, stabilized, 3million year old burls. I almost don't want pictures posted on my turn, cause it really won't be fancy/exotic/unobtainable enough. But it'll be in my hand, so all is great.
I do love all the great pics of everyones mods. The do keep getting really out there
I really just want a fun little sqounker, and I can't wait to have it made out of particle board or something abouts :D

What's the difference between "plywood" and "laminated wood"? I've seen some very cool looking rifle stocks made of laminated wood.

...meh.. dude wants it made out of freakin' PARTICLE BOARD...... now THAT I gotta see ;)

:offtopic: I've got to interject this: I just tried a wick of the CelluCotton and all I can say is OMG, if you've not tried this? I heartily recommend/endorse it! :) It wicks quicker that a bolt of lightening and imparts; IMHO, absolutely no added taste to my juice as cotton sometimes can...

As always; your mileage may vary and taste is subjective, now to try this with some MM, best/fastest/cleanest wicking material that I've found to date.

Now back to your regularly scheduled chit chat... :matrix:

BTW, it is available @ Sally beauty supply... $10 & change for virtually a lifetime's supply (500 ft.).

This stuff sells as "Dymondwood". These days it is used primarily as handle material for cheap knives (under $10) from Pakistan. Sorry about the wood snobbery but is is almost always used on cheap products. Plus it would probably mess up Peter's cutters. Cutting it is harder on blades than ironwood.

i don't know if it's just me, as i've only wicked two coil's with the stuff( i'm on my first day of using 'Cc') but it seem's to break alot easier then cotton when pulling it through the coil!??

That's very good information to have (since I was about to look into a blue variant).

Also, do you know what happened to the pdib section on the burlsource website?

I didn't buy any since I have a supply of KGD, but another member (unsolicited and out of the goodness of their heart) sent me some to try. Haven't had it in long enough to get a long term impression, but I have to say I am impressed in the short term. Might be my next "best and greatest wick".

I didn't notice any tendency to break, but I have only put it in one coil so what do I know?
