I didn't buy any since I have a supply of KGD, but another member (unsolicited and out of the goodness of their heart) sent me some to try. Haven't had it in long enough to get a long term impression, but I have to say I am impressed in the short term. Might be my next "best and greatest wick".

I didn't notice any tendency to break, but I have only put it in one coil so what do I know?

Yea, I skipped over the KGD and went right to the cellucotton (the KDG was out of stock when I went looking for some), even boiled in distilled water I found my organic cotton to have a slight "flavor", this stuff (cellucotton) didn't even need any preprocessing and has a very "neutral" flavor (i.e. NONE) wise right out of the box and as to the wicking performance... Off the Charts!!! dibi dibi dibi

how nasty are dry hits? my only reservation is whether burning rayon is super toxic or something. I do have a tendency to try and get one too many puffs per squonk.

Quite the vid, I thought. Todd has a gift. And the balls to post such on the internet. Well done, Todd.

Dry hits aren't too bad, better than cotton, and it stands up to the heat better too. Rayon is not super toxic. The chemicals used to create it are removed at the molecular level by the process itself. I.e. This stuff is more pure than any organic cotton, which is host to a number of environmental factors. This stuff is actually created in a closed system.

Pretty nasty. Switching to rayon motivated me to experiment with ultra short tails on both ends like SXD recommends, and late one night, I neglected to squonk it once too often. It tasted like lighting the wrong end of a filter cigarette. Since then, I've gone back to a nice long tail that wraps around the back of the atty on one end of my wick. IMO, this gives you much more warning that that it's time to squonk. However, I can't compare the nastiness to cotton 'cause I never did that with cotton (always ran one long tail).

my only reservation is whether burning rayon is super toxic or something.
Rayon is cellulose -- same basic chemical composition as cotton. There should be no significant difference in toxicity when they start to burn.

no. I wasn't 100% sure when I started, and wanted to play it safe. But some of our smarterer peeps explained why it doesn't matter specifically with this mod. It would only make a difference with a nippletop for fitting the battery. (if your battery is a bit long, and has a nipple, and you need a skootchenhossle bit more room, you can flip it)

btw: those pieces of paper waved about by that nutty Scotsman have just such information on them. best hope i don't forget to include special pieces of paper on your run (like i did on run#3) (did figure it out tho, pretty quick, and substituted digital keystrokes) :D

Yeah Mr. Todd is full of useful information and besides, his videos have many a sound effects like rain, dogs barking, and for the love of a wee man, some interesting Scottish slang. Waving pieces of paper about are just one of Todd's awesome talents.

I also noticed he no longer had a fuse. Is the fuse no longer standard or do you have to order one specifically without one?

I remember Peter mentioning something about it, but I never fully understood it (or my brain failed to process it). :D

It's a special request option and you should really understand exactly what that implies before you decide to go that way. All safety in the device is removed any short in the atty, coil or mod can easily lead to a battery going into thermal run away and melting. Thus why Peter calls it the face melting option.

Full disclosure: I run mine without a fuse, but then I'm a little touched anyway :p

Like FB said, you may request the BeCu fuse bypass strip "BLOW YOUR FACE OFF" option.

Looks like mark got all the other conductive goodies as well.

Good to see you back FB, I figured you'd make it back in time to get your turn. Pdib says we tied for all time lowest voltage drop on a production OliveR. I suspect Mundy with his silver mods holds the current title. (Not that there is such a thing).

I suggest this experiment... burn some cotton and burn some rayon... rayon smells like paper since it is made from tree/bamboo cellulose the cotton... well you be the judge :) here is a link to a further discussion of the subject Rayon: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/561226-rayon-wick-better-flow-flavor-saturation-nic-hit.html
