maybe I didn't give the origen enough of a chance, I only did like 2 different verticals in it and several other horizontals and slanteds but I guess I know what I like in a bf atty design, and verticals and that deep well just ain't for me. my new design is like a big fat chalice deck, I'm sure it will be a better vape for me and the way I build and now it will feed and retract the fluid correctly with no excess juice pool, it should be a kickass atty when I finish with it
and yeah I'm anxious to see if the periscoping drip tip actually tunes the flavor as much as reducing the chamber does... worse case is that it vapes best with the driptip retracted all the way up to the roof of the atty, in that case then it would be the same as any other atty design and my theory would be proven wrong but I really expect the flavor to be tunable with what I'm thinking and if so, the nuppin is perfectly suited to also play with this flavor tuning even with the stubby center pin, I don't see much reason to even go with less than that nub there tbh, the way your deck funnels in towards the center is ideal and the center nub post is about flat with the outer perimeter so to me it's fine just the way it is

I suspect this is as much a matter of preference as atty design. But the Origen really is built for those vertical coils, and the space really lends itself optimally to dual verticals, so I'm not surprised that using it with horizontals will leave most people unimpressed. Frankly, I think the BF center posts were released due to popular demand, because those crazy for the Origen dripper experience wanted to be able to take it with them on a BF mod. I am one of those people. But it is a pain, squonking too much and not being able to pocket it because there's another 5 or 10 vapes' worth of juice in the well.
Coil I can believe, but wick? What the heck are you using?
I'll guess mimetic polyalloy held in place by a magnetic containment field, fed via reconfigurable carbon nanotube substrate. Both can be dry-burned and rebuilt remotely via a smartphone app.

I would have put my name on that list last nite (would have been #2), but figured it would be best if Pdib only pick a small handful of folks to do this with to start out, plus I'm all the way out here in the UK. Having said that, I do run 2 REO's, so I'm good to go for backups if you need someone to beta test.

So for those who test the Nuppin please test to see how well it would work with one solid hand and one which randomly likes to point towards Pluto. I can wait, and can figure out how to work around my possessed left arm and hand with the final model...if not two....or.....(NO!!! I'm not getting a third Dibi!!!

My experience has been that a small pair of needle nose is needed to remove.
I don't think fingernails would be strong enough.

So, with the "no-post", the advantage is that both coil legs are pointing the same direction; so one would initially drop in / press down. One could then release the coil and switch to turning the neg. screw. In this sense, it could be a one handed operation (in that the steps can be completely isolated from one another). As is, tho, one needs to do some prep work on the leg of the coil that's going into center. It must have some kind of shape that will guarantee contact. As we fiddle with the means to establish some more certain contact on the pos. leg, we should/could focus on making it an isolated step. (coil goes in, coil is released, neg screw is set, pos. capture is set . . . . all separate steps).
The thing about the shorty post is this: the wire capture hole is at 90° to the neg. hole in the deck (and it's low on the post too). It's very likely that a coil could be put in place with one hand, now that I think about it. This would be shear dumb luck (from a design standpoint). The neg. leg needs to be trimmed to ~7-8mm. I leave the pos. leg long and pull a swoop into it (like curling ribbon; but with my fingers). I feed the pos. leg until it's about where I want it. There's friction (as the deck rim is about the same height), so it stays where I leave it. Now the neg. leg is sort of floundering and trapped at an awkward angle; but is in the vicinity of it's hole. Grab the neg. with tweezers and help/force the tip over to the hole, and it pops in. You know, these steps are all isolated/isolatable too. It may well be one-handable.
Anyway, Megan, let's just see where we're at when the time comes.
Sounds good Peter! Just didn't want to nip at your heels when there are much better testers for the 'Nuppin. I can work around anything with enough practice. After all, I did finally figure out the PT heads, my Castle and my Reo.
