A lot of smokers are fearing more restriction on their habit because of the current wave of rubbish being directed at vaping they have wrongly perhaps got the idea that ecigs are bringing more attention to the whole rather then just realising vested interests only want vaping gone. Modern society is ruled and guided by soundbites with social media taking total trash and making global giving it a sort of credibility through numbers repeating it sort of thing. Add in as I've said before that non vapers do not take the time to research to any degree vaping and it's a perfect storm of misinformation and scaremongering also we all know that some vapers are not good adverts either. Most vapers I know are good, decent and respectful people but I know a few that are complete asses and feel they have the right to do what they want where they want and most are not cloud chasers.

We need as hard as it might be to be positive in how we deal with people that are unaware of what vaping is all about and attitudes like "can't fix stupid" are both wrong and counter productive whilst we all encounter the occasional true idiot most are not they have simply been bombarded with rubbish from one side and nothing positive from our side. So we have to become that other side and engage and explain it's what I've always done and at times it's been really hard and some people you could punch in the face all day long but the majority have a more open mind then their comments may sometimes project.

It's Marge's sisters. :)

"Haters gonna hate ... don't be a hater" that is what i usually say to total idiots which usually gets a laugh in a group. Funny how that line just stops some people cold

I'm hating on your location but just because I'm not there at Breezes by the Bay having some conch chowder. :p

In my area, this is happening. I will be having a vape in a smoking area, and they will march right up and preach.
This never happened to me when I smoked.
People - they are crazy

Redacted
Edit
Smokers are both the most likely to do it, as well as being the most aggressive

Lots of dumb people in the world. Would be different if some fitness athlete gave me a talk, but it's ridiculous and sad when a smoker on his last leg starts preaching.

I have been getting nothing but positive reactions to it from most people with common sense. The only exception are the people that I know that still smoke and can't give it up, they don't think they can do it so they just talk bad about the vape, how it doesn't work and how it is probably just as dangerous as cigarettes. One of my friends was talking soooo bad about vaping recently, then a week later buys an expensive one because he saw all his friends getting them and we're all able to breathe now. I feel that most of these people just don't understand what it is, so the first thing they do is hate on it. It doesn't take much to see that it is CLEARLY better than smoking cigarettes.

Okay, so I have read a number of these threads about "being attacked" ... Now, I agree there are obnoxious ANTZ's out there that say stupid things and make our lives unjustifiably more difficult, but I can't help but wonder how inconsiderate some vapers are being.

Are we bringing our fog machines out in public and imposing our vapor on everyone? And then being all smug about it because "we've seen the light" with vaping? Are we undermining the rules of people or institutions by vaping because we think they are stupid? I have seen some of these people out in public, in restaurants, in movie theaters and it drives me crazy and gives us considerate and respectful vapers a bad name.

Personally, I have had almost no un-warranted feedback about my vaping, and certainly have not been attacked. I vape at home mostly, but when I'm out, I'm very low key and considerate and the result is no one saying anything to me.

Just my two cents.

Even though I do frequently bring my mod out that is capable of producing nice "fog banks" I know when and where I can get away with it. I will admit that I have an issue with vapers who believe as I do that it's harmless but choose to just let vape fly when and where they feel the need. To me the philosophy of "we have to vape in (indoor) public places because it's not smoking" is flawed and is only going to bring us more grief in the long run.

Having said that I wish I was allowed more likes to give your post.

Whether I vape indoors or not really depends on where I'm at. I'll vape in my house all day and if somebody doesn't like it, they don't have to come over.

I never vape in a store but when I'm in a restaurant, I'll duck into the rest room and do it. I used to vape at the table however I don't any longer because I'm no longer using an eGo or MVP 2.0. When im in a bar, I'll sit and vape in a location where it's courteous to others.

I tend to be discrete when I vape, so as to not shine a bad light on the vape community. I do vape in public, but do it in a way that it’s not a bother to anyone else. However, I do know there are those d-bags out there who think “chuckin’ cloudz” in someone’s face is their God-given right. I do my best to discourage that type of behavior on the rare occasions I do come across it. With such a rapidly growing/evolving hobby that vaping is, attracting a wide range of people of all ages, there will no doubt be those types of people that we, the responsible ones (here at ECF :)) have to set straight on what's acceptable and responsible from the community.

That sounds about the same as me besides the bathrooms, my mods would fog a bathroom pretty quick and I can have a nice dinner without needing a vape.

I fog them a little bit but not too bad considering my main vape is now a DNA 40. I'll stand in the stall and blow towards the toilet like when I used to smoke in the high school bathroom.

And then there's some bars here which ignore the smoking ban after 9pm. In these places, I pretty much vape wherever.

Same here if people are smoking it's on clouds will be blown and I encourage them to say it's just my vape that is offensive. And  at the bathrooms in high school all the "tricks" we used to use to keep the smoke down came rushing back thanks for the funny memories. :)

I've never had anyone say anything to me aggressively. But when around children I blow up and try to stand downwind of everyone else unless they are smokers or vapers too. Then I just try to avoid blowing in their eyes. Same curtesy I would expect. I vape in the bathroom at work hourly. I try to score the handicap stall and blow at the corner so the cloud disperses faster. When out, I vape to the door of my location ignoring the 50 foot smoke free zone because I'm outside and it's not smoke. But again, not blowing into people. That's just as rude now as it was in the 80's when people would blow cigarette smoke at others and not think twice about it.
