If you can believe this...
She thought it was disgusting...
One of the few times in my life I didn't understand how I wound up with her.

In today’s news, “No Link Between Anti-Smoking Drugs, Mental Health Issues: Study.”
The study was requested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration due to concerns about the safety of the drugs used to help people quit smoking. Funding was provided by drug makers Pfizer (which makes Chantix) and GlaxoSmithKline (maker of Wellbutrin).
Smokers do tend to overplay this risk, I think. This is of course just my opinion, but I do have some experience in this area. The real risk with chantix or bupropion is when you have someone with an undiagnosed mental illness. Taking the wrong psychoactive drug for your condition can have severe consequences. For instance, if someone is bipolar, taking certain antidepressants can send them into a manic state.53,229

No Link Between Anti-Smoking Drugs, Mental Health Issues: Study
Can't even begin to wrap my brain around how this could possibly be seen as a legitimate study.
Oh, and laundry pods keep poisoning and killing children, according to a new study. Solution? Store them on a high self in a cupboard.

Yeah, I was going to share it in an update to the petition, then got the second email about the site traffic lolIt looks like we broke the new survey site CASAA emailed us about
snip from email -- As is typical with the vaping community, the response to our email has been higher than expected and the survey site is unable to handle the traffic. -- I am guilty of being one of the ones that broke it![]()
According to the CASAA website, they now have over 120,000 members.Thats pretty awesome that CASAA got such an overwhelming response, it just goes to show how engaged and supportive the Vaping community truely is.
Les, I don’t know. I guess I’ve been lucky in not having to deal with knowing anybody unfortunate enough to have such a disorder. Obviously I don’t even know enough about those disorders to talk intelligently about it. However, I did take Wellbutrin—less expensive than Chantix—and it wasn’t fun. If I had a gun stuck to my head and given a choice of Wellbutrin or a statin, I’d choose the Wellbutrin and then go buy a box of NoDoz.Smokers do tend to overplay this risk, I think. The main issue is that you have general practitioners prescribing drugs that should be under the supervision of a psychiatrist, because they've been repurposed.
Can the survey be done anonymously or do you have to put your name in there? Reason for asking is so many insurance companies adore calling vapers tobacco users because they can charge them more.Yeah, I was going to share it in an update to the petition, then got the second email about the site traffic lol
I think I came in around the time we were trying to hit 20,000. There used to be threads around encouraging people to join but those have faded away. Flavored did a magnificent job of getting people to join.According to the CASAA website, they now have over 120,000 members.
Well, as of November 2015 that is.
I remember when we were pushing to get them over 10,000 members.
Somewhere along the way things changed, and I missed what happened.
I imagine it had to do with their increased presence on Facebook.
I think taking a pharmaceutical antidepressant when you don't suffer from actual depression is a horrible idea. I was on Wellbutrin for a short time, and luckily I simply had no effects. Undiagnosed psychological disorders are serious. Usually it's not that someone just hasn't sought treatment, it's that they are actually asymptomatic, so putting people at risk of triggering a disorder, when not under the care of a mental health professional, I'd almost say it's criminal.53,273
Most of you probably know the Royal College of Physicians in Britain has taken the opposite stance on vaping that the US has. Note who comes off looking like a jackass in it. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/28/h...smoking-royal-college-of-physicians.html?_r=0
It’s an uphill battle but keep on fighting.

Wellbutrin and Chantix have black box warnings, around 600 people dead so far from taking it just because they were trying to quit smoking, and the FDA orders a study to show it’s safe so they hire the makers of those drugs to carry it out? They could have saved taxpayer money by just predicting the results.
Not challenging your reply, actually glad you brought it up because I’d never considered it that way. It would be nice if the point you have made was given more attention than the constant touting that the drug is somehow a miracle cure for smoking. The only real miracle cure to date is vaping.

I think they forgot to send out a third email yesterday, saying it's working again. As for the survey, I'm not sure, I haven't taken it yet because I got the second email saying the site was overloaded. I'll update once I have.
Just took it, so it's up and running. I'll send a petition update out with the link tomorrow, I can only send one every 24 hours and I shared the RCP report today.I think they forgot to send out a third email yesterday, saying it's working again.
Can't argue with any of that.I think taking a pharmaceutical antidepressant when you don't suffer from actual depression is a horrible idea. A good psychiatrist will monitor a patient closely when starting a new treatment plan. A GP prescribing a quit smoking drug? You'll be lucky if you can get a follow up appointment.

I looked at the main page today and saw that, then the internet crashed again.Just took it, so it's up and running. I'll send a petition update out with the link tomorrow, I can only send one every 24 hours and I shared the RCP report today.
@FlamingoTutu The survey is anonymous, though there is a place where you can include your name if you are interested in having them contact you.
