80,000 from my city... Finally the winds died down. We had 80-90 mph gusts and were surrounded by two major fires. We had to wear our N95 masks indoors--the air was so full of smoke we couldn't breathe.
God bless CA firefighters--5 injured, 2 still critical.
This injured owl was saved from our Silverado fire--it's going to make it.

Your little birdie with the singed feathers has been all over our news. At least the firefighters helped the little guy and after a molt will be good to go.
I had to run in front of a bulldozer once on the fireline to get it to stop before it ran over a dazed bunny. Poor guy had his area burn, then took a direct hit of ......ant from an airtanker and was pretty dazed. It too recovered pretty fast. About the firefighters, the two critically injured were hotshots again, hope they're able to fully recover.
Think I also heard 300 home burned down there. This has been a bad year. That bird has some impressive moves.
Think he won the dancing bird contest on this thread some time back.
Not sure which is worse, the groomer or the people who asked for it....
