They are so cute. I had no idea they lived that long, wow. Having four must have been a handful.

They don't usually live that long out in the wild. They have to many things that will eat them. :( I think it musta been that apple a day that added to their long life :) I gave them all kinds of fruit but apple was the only fruit they would eat. they also got various nuts. I gathered seasonal berries and acorns for them. The very main thing that kept them healthy was the vitamin D/Calcium I added to their water. Without that they would have gotten rickets. It has been an adventure.

Hey All,

I just watched this interesting webcast video, it gives an explaination of the process that OMB is going through to make a decision on FDA Deeming. It is almost an hour long, but does offer some insight as to what is/should be going on.

(A rough basic synopsis, OMB's job is to insure that all impacts of the Deeming have been thoroughly considered, to include insuring the regulation provides a clear benefit over any negative effects, at least that's my quick take on it :))

Good Video about Deeming, The OMB/OIRA and what You can Do.

I had the same take away as you Jim and if that is the basis for passing then he kind of insinuated it shouldn't pass.

Although I'm not sure I would set up a meeting like he suggested and go to Washington. But it's great that they are taking appointments from individuals.

Yeah, based on some of the explainations in the video, at least on a logical basis, the Deeming regulation shouldn't be approved. However, since we really don't know exactly what is in the regulation, it is hard to say what we all can expect. :?:

I to find it to be a small ray of hope that they are allowing representatives of the vaping community to present thier points in respect to the potential negative effects of the Deeming. :)
(unfortunately anti-vape representatives also get to talk too) :nah:

Anyway, I hope that CASSA has been able to get an appointment. :thumb:

On the note of "appointments" Something came up I wanted to breach.

First and foremost - This is not mean to come off as offensive so please keep a level head!

I was watching a review some time ago and an interesting point came up. If you are "representing" the vaping community directly to a board of suits and you have tats and dangling earrings, you already lost. I know, I KNOW... don't tell me, but presentation is pretty much the end all beat all to these people, along with heavy duty pocket books.

Personally I find this disgusting. Everyone deserves a chance, no matter if they enjoy body art and mods, or are simple plain clothed folk.
Hell, I've met some awesome people that look like they come out of a comic book with art and they sure seem more intelligent than me - so clearly if it wasn't for the cat on my shoulders no one would listen. :)

I think you get my drift though. We are books with only covers to these "people". Forget the contents...?

Interesting comments above.
People I meet generally assume that I'm stupid. I have some work-related scars and dentition issues (pry-bars and teeth don't get along, and after 40 years in the trades I'm basically happy to just be alive) but that assumption is always there and it's a bit confusing to me. Sometimes I'll go along and do a Columbo routine for a bit just for the entertainment. When it stops being entertaining for me I speak my mind and get some rather strange looks. Often it's the comic-book jaw drop.

I'd be happy to speak with a government panel, but I don't think they'd ever get past their initial impression, and the Columbo thing would likely lose them. Self-imposed marks of individualism won't cut it either.
In the end, it requires people like Greg Conley, who can do diplomacy and politics, because that's what is necessary when dealing with government bureaucrats. Thank you Greg.

I disagree, yet mostly agree with you. They need to hear from some "real" people. Let's hope there are people with open minds listening to them. It is their job to listen to them. Will they? I don't know. Don't think for a minute that those wishing for the deeming to pass don't have a strong lineup of individuals pandering for appointments. As it looks today, OMB should reject the deeming as per their directive. If they don't, hallelujah lawsuits!

As vapers, we are are a minority with a pretty much ignorant/passive population. In the grande scheme of things, not many people care, yet lives depend on it. Millions of lives. I saw your petition today, I'll sign, verify, and post on your thread tomorrow. Thank you for caring and caring enough to post on here. :thumb: The smiley seems gratuitous but not meant to be. Honest. :)

While I have no statistical data to verify this, I think the vaping community is filled with individuals from all facets of society who all come together with a common interest. I can only hope those chosen to speak on behalf of that community are as varied as the community itself rather then pigeonholed into one classification, regardless of what that classification might be. Then make certain that "the panel" recognizes that diversification and the importance vaping is to each and every one.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, though still a couple days off. Believe me, at this point I'm happy to wait. :D

You're a really great Mom! :)

Thanks sweetie. I wouldn't want to do it again but wouldn't take for the time I have had with them. They are wonderful tiny creatures.
