I was even more amazed with the antics of Crows when I read that teenagers stick around to help take care of their younger siblings. We have a fairly big family of them living in the trees around our home. I love watching them interact with each other.

They now have "food lockers" at a lot of campsites where there are no bears at all.
And the reason is because of the crows and/or ravens.
We left a soft-sided cooler on our picnic table once and took off in the car for a few hours.
When we came back the cooler had been torn open and the entire bag of unopened potato chips was gone.
The entire bag just gone.
Nowhere to be seen.

DC2, I saw your bird with the bag up at Hetch Hetchy one day. Bag only had crumbs left but it was getting those out too so nothing went to waste.
David, someone ought to tell that bird he can get a refund if he takes it to a store.
Didn’t realize how much you guys knew about ravens/crows. I know they’re very smart but the most intelligent thing ours do is pester the daylights out of the neighbor’s dogs. If they’re not nesting in the immediate area that year, there’s 2-4 that fly in daily just to yank their chains. If the dogs aren’t outside, they sit in one of our trees carrying on until the dogs make an appearance. Then they all yell at each other for half an hour and call it a day.
