I was even more amazed with the antics of Crows when I read that teenagers stick around to help take care of their younger siblings. We have a fairly big family of them living in the trees around our home. I love watching them interact with each other.

I humbly admit it, I'm still LMAO every time I think of this photo. Great find!

One of the things I've noticed about the really smart bird species is that most have quite a highly developed sense of humor.

Even other species. Had an albino catfish with a strong sense of humor, I'm still astounded, though the other one (.... of the jokes) didn't view it that way. To this day I view eating catfish as a akin to cannibalism (I don't eat it, period). :(

This maybe a territorial move but tell me it isn't having fun. It just needs a Superman costume.

My oldest daughter is in Tokyo and visited this place today.

Thank you for posting that. What I wouldn't give to have our dog be interested in something, anything, without us being actively involved to keep him amused. :grr:

A crow posted a joke in the comments on that youtube page:
If only crows were capable of commenting on Youtube we'd have a lot more intelligent discourse around here.

Almost 51,000 signatures. I don't care what the naysayers (in other threads) may think. You did a fantastic job Les...!
Thanks inspects! They're not "wrong," just a little narrow minded, not sure why they don't want to see bigger pictures. As someone in that thread pointed out, there seems to be a lot of ego involved, I just don't think it's coming from me... This petition stopped being "mine" a long time ago. The people in this thread are the ones keeping things going, I'm just the custodian, an incredibly grateful one!

This busted me up. He gets really irate a little past half way through.

Max knows when he sees his carrier that it's a visit to the vet and gets pretty vocal about it.
Max is saying his own words that only he understands for the most part. The only things I know he is saying is "I don't wanna" and "What did I say"
He is actually a very happy and loving bird, but like any kid, he needs to express himself every now and then.

You're a good man, with a lot of will.

I loved watching Max pitch him temper tantrum :D Fantastic fine FT

I once had a parakeet named Rudy-Roo. He was an independent little guy but I am thinking he loved his mom almost as much as his mom loved him. He actually chose me so that might have added to our attachment.
He could talk up a storm and had quite a list of phrases. He proved to me that he knew and understood what he was saying. Hubby was a truck driver back during that time. I heard his truck pull off the highway one day and as usual Rudy was on my shoulder. I just said "I guess it is time for daddy to come home". He made the connection and every time he heard the truck he would stop what he was doing, fly to the window facing where the truck was parked and say "time for daddy to come home". He never picked up "daddy's home" though :D It has been years since he crossed the rainbow bridge but I miss him still today.
