How long does it take to get your confirmation email? Usually a confirmation comes pretty fast doesn't it?

Check your trash. I think mine ended up there when I first registered. I know there was an issue and I had to figure out how to get the password. I think I went to the signin screen and said I forgot my password, but I didn't have one. However, I got it to generate another email with their generated password. Good luck

My goal of 3,000 came up short by 69, but that was nearly 450 for the day. Not bad.

We got this petition in just in time.

White House Hikes Requirements for Responding to Petitions - Tech Insider

Petitions posted after October 3rd now require 25,000 signatures for a response.

As hard as it's been to get together 5k signatures, I don't think we had a prayer at 25k. A different approach would be needed for something like a harm reduction petition asking for honesty in establishing product risk. You'd almost need to get the 25k committed to sign prior to submission and establish a mailing list. Schedule a date for sending it through after mobilizing the support. Other than that and reading the article, somehow tying it to mj is the only other alternative. JOKING

Keep up the good work and keep spreading the word to everyone you know to sign! I hope we can get 100,000 sigs just for impact so they know we won't be ignored! This may be one of the few opportunities we have of actually having a voice and being heard. We are over halfway to the goal, but I know we can beat that easily if everyone does their part. I wish this could somehow be displayed more prominently, if it wasn't for a personal e-mail I received, I would have missed it! I was sure someone had posted about it, so I looked for it, but how could we make it more obvious? Gonna go post on facebook...I don't know a lot of vapers personally, but everyone we reach can help!

... if it wasn't for a personal e-mail I received, I would have missed it!

Yes, thank you CASAA for the personal email! I've forwarded it to friends and family, along with the following introduction (sharing here in case anyone else would like to copy and paste it into a forward):

Dear Family and Friends,

A few weeks ago I wrote to ask you to register a "No" vote regarding pending legislation concerning an exorbitant taxing scheme (cloaked behind special-education funding) geared toward e-cigarette users. At present, S. 1403 is stuck in committee (thanks to the negative response it garnered), and it appears unlikely that the bill will move any further this year. To each of you that took the time to do register a "No" vote, I send a huge, heart-felt thank you.

Today, I'm hoping you will take the time to sign an important petition that's been put before the White House: a request that President Obama's Administration acknowledge e-cigs as a viable, safer alternative to cigarettes. The "short story" of the situation is that advocates for and consumers of e-cig products are up against Big Pharmacy and Big tobacco -- both of which heavily lobby for their own monetary interests.

It is paramount that our petition collect 5,000 signatures by October 27th. If we cannot obtain the necessary signatures, we will be able to re-petition, but the next time around the threshold will be 25,000 signatures. Obviously, 5,000 signatures is a much more manageable hurdle. It's possible little will happen, even if we amass the 5,000 signatures in time, but we have to try. For this reason, we are hoping friends and family who are glad we've finally managed to break away from the cancer-causing agents of cigarettes will help out once again.

I'm forwarding an email I received from CASAA (The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association). This letter more fully explains the situation.

The last thing I want to do is to annoy anyone with email solicitations, so I apologize for asking for your help regarding e-cigs yet again. Please know I certainly wouldn't do so if I didn't completely believe e-cigs have the potential to save millions of lives.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested in signing the petition. Thank you for all your support.

(Forwarded letter enclosed.)

Can we just do like they do and get an "auto signer" ? Mr Computer can knock out 25k signatures in ~30 seconds :)

@Vap0rJay - Actually we don't want to do anything that could make signatures disqualified. The rules do mention not using email programs...3rd party emailers, etc. We have more than enough members here that if we keep pushing I feel confident we can make that 5K. I don't feel as confident on us making the 25K new threshhold so....this is REALLY important to get it right this time in my honest opinion.

Friends, coworkers, spouses.. anyone who supports your transition to ecigs could sign to help the cause. If everyone that has already signed got just ONE other person to sign - we'd crush that 5K mark.

All hands on deck - keep pushing!!

I was being factitious...
As in it's ok for them to auto sign away...
