The problem with the 25,000 mark is that the time frame doesn't change. We still need to reach the quota in 30 days. Finding that many people to sign wouldn't be that difficult, but getting the word out to all of them within 30 days would be.

Too bad we can't find out how all of these people are getting referred. The sudden jump to 400+ signatures in each of the last couple of days is amazing; where did they all suddenly learn of this? It would be very helpful to know that, so we can get the word to those outlets the next time a petition is started. (Yes, I'm confident we'll meet our goal this time, but that doesn't mean we're done petitioning.)

The whitehouse.gov petition sign-up was screwed up for the last few days. It is now working.

NO flavors except tobacco and menthol.

NO online sales.

NO choice of nicotine strength.

NO vaping indoors.

NO vaping outdoors on dozens of hospital, government, and college grounds across the country.

NO hiring people who use nicotine in any form, including e-cigarettes, the gum, and the patch.

All of this and more is in the works and some of it has already come to pass.

The FDA, the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society are just a few of the rich and powerful organizations that--having failed to ban e-cigarettes altogether (so far)--intend to make vaping as expensive, unpleasant, and inconvenient as possible.

They continue to spread misinformation and sponsor legislation against electronic cigarettes, and they show no signs of giving up.

We\'ve won some critical battles against these powerful organizations, armed with nothing but our passion and the truth. They greatly underestimated our resolve.

This site was specifically designed to give citizens a means to petition our government, and I can\'t imagine why we wouldn\'t want to take advantage of this opportunity.

If we can\'t get to 5,000 signatures by October 27th, we\'ll have to start all over again, and it will be five times more difficult since the threshold for official response is now 25,000 for petitions filed after October 3rd. This is our best opportunity to make a statement, to stand up and demand that our government address this issue.

Will this actually accomplish anything? Hell if I know. But I do know that it\'s better than sitting around .....ing about the current state of affairs.

Please, take a moment to sign the petition. This is your chance to stand up and have your voice heard by our government.

3,000+ signatures now... amazing. I have to admit I wasn't sure if this would get any traction but it looks like we're definitely going to make it to 5,000. Thanks for everyone's help.

We just heard today from a couple of vendors who are putting links on their web sites! There is even a UK vendor holding a contest to see how many Americans folks can recruit to go sign the petition. ;-)

Yes, this is getting attention.

I see a vendors already have links on their site to it now. I know Kev at Vapersplace sent out a mass email which helped. CASAA sent one out as well. Facebook groups are talking...we're tweeting it constantly. A little more push and I think we'll hit that 5K soon. Fingers crossed we can knock out 10K actually lolol. Keep spreading the word and we might crush that 5K mark.

What we really need for the future is a database of email addresses to notify, 1st of a pending petition, the a call to arms when submitted. You basically need to know you have the required signatures before you start. This one is okay but not as "harm reduction" oriented as I'd like to see. However that's a future discussion.

I think CASAA is working to make sure they have as many interested vapers email addresses as possible for exactly this sort of thing. Hoping the in the future to break it down for state bans as well. I know the mass email they sent out over the weekend seemed to help.

If you haven't joined CASAA.. PLEASE CONSIDER!! It is free and all about protecting your right to vape as well as educating on smoking alternatives.

I've been trying for two days still not receiving confirmation email and yes, I check my spam folder. Just received a message from relative claiming she received "System Down" message. When I go to the site there are signers that have been able to sign today. I'll keep trying

:( Oh man.. I hope you get through Dragonfly! If you have an alternate email address maybe try signing up with that.

I have noticed the site going down here & there too but we have gotten a LOT of siggys over the weekend. Fingers crossed we break that 3K mark this week and just keep going lol.

I suggest that as soon as we hit 5,000, we should begin a second petition that includes more details about Tobacco Harm Reduction (not just e-cigs) so we can carry over some of this momentum and see if we can't hit 25,000...About 1 in 5 people uses tobacco in some form, that means the odds are good that every one of the 5000 signers should know at least 4 people that don't smoke who would be in favor of continued (or increased) access to satisfying and affordable smoke-free alternatives.
