Lol
leaford's videos are what concerned me the most :D

Anyway, yeah, it makes sense that it wouldn't adversely affect pets, but I guess I'm just paranoid.
I was reading about the effects of fog machines on actors in an effort to better understand PG, and I remember it mentioning cats, which worried me a bit.
The article is linked from wikipedia's entry on fog machines if interested (can't post urls yet :) )

We did have a post a long time ago that one cat tried to lick the fingers after an e-cigger had gotten them wet with e-liquid. Now, that would be bad. The amount of nicotine it would take to kill a cat is very small. Best advice (I'm a dog owner only) is to keep all liquids and cartridges stashed away. Just another pet-proofing your house safety precaution. My dog used to hate cigarette smoke, but doesn't seem phased by the e-vapor.

Seriously, Mike is one of the reasons I quit smoking analog cigarettes. I used to also have a Peachfaced Lovebird named Jamie. Jamie died last year at about 13 years old. Lovebirds live 10-15 years or so, so it was her time, but I have wondered since whether she may have had a few more years if she hadn't been breathing my SHS. Parrots have sensitive respiratory systems.

African Greys, like Mike, can live over 70 years, so I am hoping to leave Mike behind when I go. Stopping smoking was something I had to do to help ensure I don't lose Mike too soon.

That's very touching, it's good to know that Mike will be tobacco free from now on, just like yourself! :)

I think all birds have sensitive respiratory systems, that's probably why canaries were used.

Anyway... I can report that so far e-smoking seems to have no obvious adverse effects on spiders!

Well that's really too bad.
