Foggy, yeah I've got the fill screw removed. I can't quite chain vape on it, but then again I never have been able to with genisis attys, though it is wicking pretty well so far. And my Mesh Co order took about 5 days to arrive, so if you're lucky it may get to you sooner than you expect ;-)

Yankee, those wicks are solid or pretty darn close to it. #400 mesh and a 6/5 coil wrap on each. Resistance has gone up to 1.2 ohms after a little use. I just had to try a dual wick, but I may just stick with one for my next build. We'll see how this setup is after a couple days

I have one I can chain vape until I OD on nic. It won't stop. I can't keep up with IT. Now I have to transfer that style wick to the cobra. That setup works best but they have 3.5mm wick holes. I'm bagging the testing for tonight. I can't vape it. I have a weekend coming up.

I've got a setup on my GTUS right now that is about as close to chain-vapable as I've had, I can get 4-5 big hits in before it goes dry when running VG juice. I'd just copy that setup over, but it wouldn't work the same since that one is a bottom coil and the Cobra is a top coil design. I may still translate parts of it over one of these days.

I had a top coil issue today. Took it off, flipped the wick. Luckily the bottom half was smoother and that's the working wick/coil I have now. It's a good thing. I don't even have 400 left. If this wick goes south, I'll have to clean it and re-roll it.

This is exactly what happens to me. No flavor or 1 or 2 good hits and then burnt. I can't wait to try the 500 mesh. I'm not touching this sucker again until I get the 500.

Hopefully, we'll both be singing the praises of 500 soon!

I like that it's set up with multiple holes so we have options. Dual wick does sound pretty tempting.

Joys my .... I need to find THE setup for the cobra. I have taken great time in trying several setups for each genny I have. Solid worked GREAT all night last night and ALL DAY today. It choked on me on my way home. Ad I haven't been able to get it wicking since.
Now. Back to the drawing board for this device. Smh

You're miles ahead of me for RBA experience. I look forward to coming back to the thread and finding you've nailed the solution for all of us!

I jinxed it. I just bragged how great it was working.

You're doing great with all you're testing and stuff. You have any 325 as a "just in case?" It's still better than nothing.

Miles ahead. Well, this does just go to show you that EACH device is different. I think I'm going to take that solid wick and unroll it some and trim off a little. I had about 82-83mm on it. My fingers just cannot tighten that up anymore. And it's TIGHT in the hole. I'm almost thinking if I take that down to about 70-75mm to start with, it should leave a slight gap around the wick. I'm not sold that one screw out is helping.

Today is Friday. And tonight will be that experiment.

Yeah, versatility was one of the things that appealed to me about the Cobra. Dual wicks are interesting, but they're also twice the headache getting them set up

Wicking is not so good for me, now. It was great at first, though was going through juice pretty fast (half the tank in less than 2 hours last night, I usually vape 4-5 ml in a whole day so that's fast for me). Once it got to the halfway mark, my wicking performance has gone to the dogs :( Not sure what the deal is, I'll have to open it up and investigate further now that I'm home for the night

yankeebobo, what size are you cutting your mesh to? I hope i have time this weekend to mess with the cobra, but i probably wont. Its just sitting there brand new tempting me

I had it at 80mm, 7/6 wrap with 28 AWG. Had a 1ohm coil. 3V was the place to vape this chocolate peppermint altoid at. It just wasn't wicking. It was TIGHT into the wick hole. It vape ok for a day or so.

Tonight, I unraveled some. Cut a tad over 1/2 in (13mm) and refolded the edge. Retightened the wrap and recoiled 7/6, same as above. Still 1 ohm, at about 3V. Been vaping steady for about an hour. Only vaping the cobra. Some chain vapes, some time in between and back to a few chain vapes.

So now the #500 mesh is cut to 67mm.

Side note....I did try 32 AWG and had it at 3.7v, but it was way too harsh. It's not necessarily the setups fault. Have you ever imagined vaping a chocolate covered altoid? It hits by itself.

For the record, this 67mm just happened to be what was left after simple subtraction. I'd probably round down to 65mm.
I really am getting plumes of vapor now. Even more than with 80mm. I firmly believe the wick hole needs SOME space around the wick. At barely there, but removing 13mm is something. I'll monitor this setup now

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with cobra issues. Mine tastes like poop! Burnt poop! Lol

Oh it's only a matter for me of finding the right setup for this device. The other setups I use don't work on the cobra. Gotta find the right nitch. :)
And you will get there too.

Btw, I'm saying what TODAY'S experiment brought. Lets see how this one holds up. AND I can see certain juices tasting worse than others.

Yeah my new juice sucks I think, RBA or not. I am going to try a wick without oxidizing it to see what that's all about.

Without oxidizing it? I think you're about to find out what it's all not about haha :)

Please point me to a discussion talking about using non-oxidized wicks

I can't remember one person that doesn't oxidize at all. Some jack frost only. I can't not oxidize because I short, E out on provari, or blow a Paps spring.

I know, right!? Sounded weird to me too but a few members in the iHy thread were swearing up and down about it. I figured it would be worth a shot I guess.

Well, think about the hotspots and shorts that occur before you nudge the coil. When you nudge the wire, you are moving it from an area that's not oxidized as much/enough to an are that is.
