Well here it is, my official Phiniac tank (and yes the hubby picked it for me as I couldn't make up my mind)

e2-xl-128.jpg

And I did not have to stalk the mailman :p

Well, did he at least put it in a Phiniac satchel with a baggie of extra o-rings?? oh, and roll it up in bubble wrap?? Everything is more fun with bubblewrap! LOLOL

Also, I was wondering, if he put the 510 cap on, does that mean u were using an adapter for the 808? That can effect the performance of the carto IME.

Nice tank!!!!

OK so hubby is putting the 510 top cap back on my Purple Buzz (hopefully he won't break the wire again) and then drilling holes in the XL cartos... which should I try first? The IKV 808 or the RESURRECTOR?

I would suggest that you try the resurrectors first. Since people usually like those better and the draw is easier on those as well.

Looks great and he made the right choice for you.

Well I started with the IKV 808 and I am extremely unimpressed. The draw is extremely tight. I prefer the Fusions over the Boges as the draw is a little tighter on the Fusions, but this is really over doing it. My cheeks hurt. The problem is I don't know if it is the carto or my Buzz. I had to send my buzz off to Mike to be fixed and this is the first I have used it since it has returned! Now I think I need to convince the hubby to drill some holes in the ressurectors :p Because I am really not enjoying the IKV mega 808's!

Wow, sorry to hear about your experience with the 808's. The draw is a little tighter then both a Fusion and a Boge. Although, it's not supposed to be as tight as you've described. Try it on another mod and see how the draw is like. Then you can pinpoint whether if it's a dud or the mod is to blame. Also, as with many 808 cartos. It's better to take a light and longer drag. Like I had mentioned earlier in one of my last posts.

You should really get one of those saddle valves. It's really easy to use and costs about $5 or 6 bucks. I bought mine at Home Depot.

Nice tank!!!!

You mean when he send out packages you guys get all those extras??? I'll have to have a word with him about that... LOL

No no little satchel, no baggie of extra o-rings and no bubble wrap for me! I'm feeling left out :glare:

I was thinking it could be the adapter. But I only have 510 and 801 caps so I had to use the adapter. I am going to give the ressurector a try later maybe I'll have better luck!

At the moment the purple buzz is the only one with the 510 top cap. And I do not have an 801 - 808 adapter. I think I am just going to move on to the ressurector and if I still have too tight of a draw I will then put one of my other 510 caps on another buzz and then I will know if it is the buzz, the adapter or the top cap.

At the moment no plans for pyrex top caps but no telling what the future holds. We have played with the idea of a one piece tank that does not use caps, but if we do go there it won't be any time soon... too much on the phiniac table at the moment.

Reeeeeeaaallllllyyyyy??? Do tell . . . . . :)

We will be upgrading to a leather satchel with a metallic red lizard embossed as soon as the black suede runs out!

Well we are working on the sand blasting which has been a huge project and not a small investment! We still need to get our act together and get going on the Stainless Steel caps. We also have a tinted glass tank around the corner. It is slightly larger in diameter then the pyrex we are currently using so we have to engineer a few caps for it. They will be available in Green, Lavender, Pink, Amber, Colbalt and Black (the amber and colbalt are pictured in the video below. We also want to make a tank that is a finished product for the Ce2 users. I'm not a Ce2 fan, but why should they be left out! Then of course there are a few things I am not ready to mention

Oh ok, gotcha. I thought you already had the adapter and so, my mistake. I'm pretty sure your going to have a lot better luck with the resurrectors since it's going to be used on the 510 top cap. Let me know how you like them. They're still one of my favorite cartos.

Yeah, I can totally understand. I'm sure that the sand blasted tanks are going to take a lot of work before they're put on the website. REALLLY looking forward to those as well. A one piece design would be nice too and I'm sure it's going to be awesome when it's finished. Overall, I can't wait to see all that comes out from Phiniac in the near future.

One word.......WOW! It looks like I'm going to be a proud owner of a LOT of Phiniac tanks soon. Those look nice and interested in seeing the green version as well.

The green, pink and lavender are a bit lighter. The green is my favorite! The black and colbalt are so dark you will have to hold it next to the sun to see your juice and the amber is in between the two. You will have to ignore the glass in those videos, they are not polished and the video was taken right after they were cut, so it they look pretty nasty! I don't think we will be doing any additional glass work on them, but I am trying to push forward with them so they are ready very shortly after we are up and running with the sand blasting as I can not wait to see how they look sand blasted!

Ressurectors look like they will be tomorrows project as the hubby is looking done fore the evening and I only have a few and don't want to take a drill to them myself!

green glass.....oh man that sounds nice. etched with veining like a leef.........with a those nice day glow colors flowers you do or the dragonfly, definite best seller. Etching veins would probably be a great learning pattern because it will look great even if the masking gets loose. The hard part is somthings you guys are already great at :D

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with on the light color glass, although the black and cobalt will provide an amazing contrast for the etchings..............man why did you add colored pyrex...........It was bad enough when i was just tripping on ideas for the clear glass....a bird etching on the cobalt blue, with like a quarter moon on the other side..........., if you can use a hole big enough to use those LED cartos.......the etchings will take on another dimension.......

Moooo this allows you dangerous levels of creativity...................the amazing tanks you are making now with the coloer pyrex and simple etchings...OMG yea I can't wait, I get so excited when you post the tanks as it is.....................

Everything is here but the sand :( it won't be here until sometime next week, so we are staring at an empty box and a few tanks that already have vinyl cut and applied... it is almost a huge bummer, but not really as there is something to look forward too!

All I need for xmas this year is a Phiniac atomizer tank!! :)

An atomizer tank would be awesome!!! I would throw every one of my cartos away. I have not read up on them really recently but the last I did it really didn't sound like something that had been perfected, more then a hit or miss didn't really work thing. Regardless we are not engineers (not even close) so before we get there we will need to be pointed in the direction of what is working and what is not. I absolutely refuse however to come out with a product that is hit or miss, that floods or leaks, we try to make sure that everything we do is a finished product and not a mod in the making.

So if anyone has any directions or idea regarding an atty tank speak up and we will take it ALL in!
