Here's a few pics... Hope they are clear enough to help.

The last one is just to show that it gives an expected resistance, and no orange glow. Click on the pics to make them bigger.

I took a 2.25" piece of wick and folded it in half. Wrapped coil around wick along with a paperclip to have something stiff to help wrap it. After wrapping 6 wraps, I installed it diagonally, with each end of coil going into posts in opposite directions, with as little bare wire as possible. I put the loop end of the wick into the well, on other side there is two ends. I put one end in the well and the other end goes up into the cap. Its a 2ohm coil, I got it up to 4v on the provari. It is working pretty good now, I've filled the well 3 times in the past hour or so. I'm just not getting much flavor. I have been playing with loosening and tightening the cap to get more/less air, and am in the process of finding that sweet spot. I wonder if I'm just spoiled by my newly dead HH.357, that it had such good flavor, or if my coil needs to break in a little, or if that is just the best flavor I'm going to get from the silica wick. I'd like to try some SS mesh, I've read that 325 mesh would probably work/wick the best, anyone know a good place to get some? Actually also need some kanthal and wick, I've burned through just about all it came with as well as the extra 6 inches I think that I bought with the phoenix.

Make a dual coil setup and put them on the sides of the posts not the center...I get alot more flavor from duals.

You really owe it to yourself to try a cotton wick. I use Peaches & Cream brand 100% cotton yarn that I got from wal-mart. In fact that is what is in the pictures above that I showed you. The only thing is no dry burn. Just put a drip or 2 of juice on it when you test fire the coil. It really is amazing how much more flavor comes out. I tried a silica wick last night cuz I was feeling lazy and have the prewound wick/coil from my Mark-T, and found it unusable. That having been said I LOVED that prewound wick just 2 weeks ago before starting to use cotton.

Well, albeit a little tedious, success with the first rebuild. Just playing around with the extra that came with it. Not too bad though. Got 2.2 ohms and left the wick a bit longer than what came with it and frayed the crap out of it. Little bit of a pain to stuff the wick into the bowl, but I think I figured it out now. Kind of overfilled the cup a bit first try, but sucked some out with a syringe and it hits pretty nice now. Nice vapor and flavor. I got a bunch of silica wick and mesh right now to play with, but I have also heard some good stuff about the cotton rondasherrill, so will also try some of that. I'm sure the silica will work fine in my Vivis if the cotton works better in this one.

I just got 15' of kanthal and some of that puffy silica wick(not ce2 style) from mountainoakvapors, thanks to whoever it was that posted the link. I am about to try this wick, but its weird, when you handle it, it leave a sandy feeling on your fingers. If I twist it tight to wrap the coil like I've heard, when it puffs up the coil would be pretty tight. Don't we not want the coil tight?

Don't twist the wick...there's no need, just put the wick aginst a paperclip and wrap spaced out coils while not pulling tight on the wire at all. Fray the ends of the wick after you have your wick/coil screwed down and put a strand or 2 going up into the shell and tuck the rest into the bottom. Should be the best vape you ever had by far.

The last one I made, which worked good but didn't taste the flavor well(I'm going to try a different juice with the next build, I wasn't getting good flavor with my Oba Oba Tobacco 50/50 VG/PG juice), I had two strands of wick. On each side of the coil, I had one strand going into the well and one going up into the barrel.

I don't know if that will be good with this wick because it is so much thicker, it will make the coil bigger to fit around it, so actually the resistance would be higher cuz the wire is longer, right?

Yeah the more wire you use the higher the resistance...if you have a VV PV hough you want about 3 ohms. You can also get alot more flavor by running two 4 ohm coils which will equal about 2 ohms.

Hey Dubs, did you say that you have mesh too? This is, hands down, the way to go. Unbelievable. No burning what-so-ever, and plumes like you wouldn't believe. Give it a try sometime. You won't be disappointed.

Edit: Be very careful though if you don't have a protected battery device. It's real easy to have a short but not obvious. Once set, it's friggin' awesome.

I want to make one that works well first before I go trying to make a dual-coil setup. Like I said, the last one I made vaped great, tons of vapor and wicked great, but the flavor was just blah. If I can get something going that tastes good, I'll be happy.

Try cutting off the wicks short...the longer the wick the more time it takes to wick the juice to the coil. fluff up your wicks too...like twist them the opposite way they are braded to fluff them before you wrap the coil on it and after.

Be patient, man. This is pretty tedious stuff, for me at least, being so tiny. It took a few tries for me to get this stuff to work. Once you get it right, you will be laughing like a madman. LOL. It's that good.
