This one came along later. Didn't like those rubber grips ... so I changed them for some glitz.
I don't know how thick your belt needs to be but the ratchet system on the Kore belt works great and can be micro adjusted in 1/4 inch increments forward or back for late in the day or after meals.

BIG agree on the Kore belts. They're phenomenal. Now, others are doing it too but I believe they kicked it off. Why ALL belts weren't ALWAYS like that is anyone's guess.
I've been holding off on getting a "ratchet" belt for awhile. When I joined USCCA, part of the promo was a free range bag and ratchet belt. After wearing the belt for a few weeks, I decided to put it up and order a couple of Kore belts (that damned USCCA buckle was digging into my belly and after a few hours was beginning to hurt!). Now I'm kicking myself in the backside for not ordering one of those Kore belts earlier, even before I started to carry on a regular basis! Damn those things are comfortable! And yes, the ability to let it out a few notches after an outing to one of the local restaurants is golden!
When I first got one, my immediate thought was, "WHY aren't ALL belts made like this???"
Old company ticked me off for the last time and I jumped ship to go with a new company that just landed a huge multi-million dollar contract with DART. As such, much of what I used on the last job has been put aside due to the new company issuing pretty much everything we need. Ditched their Sam Browne style belt in favor of mine, but the one thing I can't ditch is the firearm they issued. I really can't stand Glocks. They don't feel right and I can get them to malfunction pretty easily. But the thing that really puts a bur under my saddle is they're issuing California compliant magazines with the damned things. Seriously?! I've already lodged a complaint with the office, and if they don't cough up standard capacity magazines, I'm going to order my own and use them. Some of the areas we have to clear at night are pretty danged sketchy and I'll be dipped if I head into these areas with a spartan load of ammo. Yeah, the company is headquartered in California. They've got to get educated quick that what they do there is Kalifornia doesn't cut the mustard here.

Not my EDC, but it's been on my bucket list to build one from scratch. Finished this build last spring.

I have this one...GF got a G3C a couple of months ago. Generally I try to steer clear of Taurus products, but I do have to admit, it's not too bad. A little snappy, but all in all, gets the job done well.
Was at the range last week and came home with another. They had a sale on Mossberg's. They know me too well there. Added a Maverick 88 Security to the collection.
You had to ask. I didn't keep a running log of what I was spending or I might have substitutted less expensive parts. But after it was done, I asked myself that same question. I'd like to do another but on a smaller budget just to justify the expense on tools dedicated to the job. The rifle is all USA made parts except for the scope. That was made in Japan. (wasn't going to use anything from China).

Because a Craddock Precission would have been at least another $400 and Compass Lake had a good reputation on Snipers Hide and AR15-dot-com. I was particular about getting a black fluted 18 inch barrel from an upper end barrel maker. Most of the off-the-shelf barrels did not meet this requirement. To a certain extent money wasn't the deciding factor as I was only doing this 'one' time and my decision process was 'go for it'.What was your reasoning in going with Compass Lake? Especially when barrels from FN America can be had for half the price?
