I added a tiny drop of Flavourart cinnamon celyon to see what it would do and so far I am really liking it even though I have never had pineapple upside down cake with cinnamon. Well time to let these all sit with the lids off over night and try them again in the morning. If I don't go to bed now I will be up all night LOL.

Night All!!!!

As an outside observer to this thread I would like to nominate this thread to Top Ten Greastest status.

It is a great thing seeing this back and forth. I know if I wasn't still trying to vape through my last mad rush of experiments to free up my 24 glass test bottles that I'd be hip deep in this one too.

(I did discover that whiskey ice cream tastes better than it sounds though, so the last mad rush to add other flavors to ice cream wasn't a total loss even if the moosetracks tastes like nothing but slight nutty.)

I tried mixing with PA pineapple and it's to much of a candy pineapple for me. Does anyone know of a good natural tasting pineapple?

Don't throw it out. You can still experiment with a too-candyish "anything" by using a drop or two of lemon or a souring flavoring. If you don't want the essence of lemon, you can use Bitter Wizard from FA. Ditto for anything too acidic or sourish, you can use MTS Vape Wizard. Here is the link. Be sure you read the reviews. I did, and they were all favorable for results obtained. Here is the link. If you're going to DIY, you will probably need it anyway. D.I.Y & Mixing - Flavourart eLiquid Flavouring

Yeah, what he said. Great thread. I'm not even interested in pineapple upside cake, but I do love this thread -- teamwork!

I never thought asking about a recipe would make such a fun thread. Thanks Hoosier for your kind comments. I really like the back and forth and collaboration too. I'm on batch number 125 I think......lol. It's not that bad -- yet, but I do have quite a few bottles around. I feel that it's getting closer, but not quite ready for "release". Some of the earlier batches I made a few days ago are actually tasting better, so I think steeping may help some. Heck, I'm willing to try anything at this point.
Maybe I can grind up a real cake and use it as flavoring? lol Don't think so.......but can always dream.

I have vape wizard and bitter wizard is already on it's way to be so when it gets here I will give it a try. I wasn't thinking when I ordered and I went ahead and ordered flavourart pineapple to but oh well now I will just have more pineapple LOL.

Happy Anniversary, Mary_d!!! I wish you many, many more. Definitely a good day to take off from the "lab"....lol.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that you can never have too many flavorings on hand. This is really starting to remind me of my fly tying hobby. Everytime I'd see an interesting fly I wanted to make, I would not have the right color feather, thread, or some other component. So on to FleaBay or wherever I'd go and look for what I "needed".....lol. I see the same thing happening with DIY mixing. This Pineapple not strong enough, well, try that one or this one. I'm just glad my wife is "on board" with the DIY projects. Otherwise, I'd be doing my mixing out in the street....... lol

Horton.....How funny!

I know what you mean about the hobby thing....same deal goes with making jewelry with me and even fabric crafts. I would see some fabric that I thought would look so cute as a bandana for either the cats or dogs.....now I have more dressers for my fabric than for my clothes....

The flavorings....well, I have found myself going overboard there too.....We all like different things (I'm making for 3) so I don't think I could possibly ever have enough of an assortment:)

The fabric reminds me of a story about a quilt my wife was / is still making. It was what I thought a "little project" --- what do I know about sewing and how material is measured? Well, she found a vendor on FleaBay and since I'm the "computer person" of the house, that really means, "honey, will you go buy that item for me?". So, good old horton goes and buys this very pretty material. I chatted with the vendor and teased her that I'd probably be back for more.... I did not realize how true that statement would be. I think I ended up buying from that seller 12 or more times.... I actually bought all of that particular material she had -- barely had enough material to get the project done. This "small project" was actually a queen sized quilt which probably has enough fabric to tarp a football field I came to learn. I can't tell you how many times I've stabbed myself with pins from that $%^# quilt. But, I must say, it is beautiful and will be even more beautiful when it is finished and I don't have to keep holding it up so she can measure something. I'm not seven feet tall, dear..... it's hard holding that thing up for extended periods of time without it dragging on the floor. I must make a great sight standing on a chair with my arms stretched out holding this monster of a quilt.
Sorry.... got off topic a bit....lol
Well, she has her hobbies and I have mine. Glad she likes to do DIY, errr, I mean vape DIY. lol She does really help by taste testing because her sense of taste is much more acute than mine.
Isn't having hobbies great? The next person who tells me hobbies are nice, inexpensive ways to pass the time is going to get an earful from me.....lol. Inexpensive my tail...... I don't even want to know what I've spend on flavorings and all the other fixings, and I'm glad PayPal history does not go far back enough for me to see all the fabric purchases. But, seriously, we are having fun, and that is what matters.
I can't tell everyone on this thread how much I am enjoying myself and hope I finally do come up with a recipe that will be enjoyed by all.

Check post #33..... that's pretty much where I'm at now with a few minor changes. My brown sugar does not taste right to me... I'm gong to order another smaller bottle to see if perhaps I got a bum batch. I've got 15ml that smells like some kind of cleaning solvent right now, and don't want to use it.

We both had doctor appts. today so not much got done. It's pretty much an all day affair to drive there and back plus wait to se the doc. Kills most of the day.

It's from PA -- isn't it the same place? For some reason I thought it was..... and it is GOOD but oh so strong!!!!! I probably have enough for 100 peeps with 15ml....lol Maybe you can dilute the PA with PG or VG to get it to a reasonable strength??

I did 15% mixture with VG using PA Cinnamon. It is strong, but it's an amazing atty cleaning vape. Yeah, surprised me, too!

I'll have to try it for an atty cleaning vape, ByStander1..... thanks for the idea. Some flavors just don't seem to want to leave an atty....lol. I have some that I've tried and tried to get a strong flavor out to no avail. I have quite a few atties committed to the project already, would be nice to save some of them.
Gosh, Keelalagirl55, I'd have thought that Cinnamon would have worked with the toothpicks. To me it has the same "aroma" as what I used to use. Maybe my nose has forgotten what it really did smell like...lol.
Hopefully, I'll try a few little changes today that will be positive and get closer to a finished recipe. I apologize for taking so long. Seems like stuff keeps coming up that interrupts my DIY work......Do the floors really need to be swept? Or the house dusted? I suppose so.... but I hate leaving my "cave" and doing chores....lol.
Speaking of which, I guess I better get some things done around the house then I can "play" and see what happens. A few of the earlier batches that now have sat for a while are tasting better and better. I am becoming more and more convinced that steeping really does make a difference. I'm just too impatient..... will have to try that hot water bath idea and see if that may speed things up. Have to get this stuff done yesterday....lol.
Hope everyone has a great day...... horton...... out

I really like your attitude, CarrieM....... the heck with cleaning...... My wife always has said I'd be perfectly happy living in the garage with my tools and projects as long as I had a cot or bed I could sleep on......lol. It drives her nuts when I start something new because she knows I'm like a hound dog on point......I'm completely absorbed in it I don't stop until the project is done ....lol
