Yes, I want to quit vaping after I quit smoking. This is a means to an end for me. It seems as though I am in the minority, though.

That's okay, Ind1. Nobody will fault you, make fun of you, or try to talk you out of it. Your decision is supported vigorously by us, even though we don't feel the same about our own use. This is one community where being in a minority is not a bad thing - quitting smoking is THE most important thing, period, and with that, you're part of the majority.

No idea mate I'm a noob! I am also a drummer whos rather partial to the latest 'drumming' investments! At least I'll have more money to spend on that!
Seriously I cant get over how big this industry is - and thats pretty lame from a long term smoker. Either the marketing is all wrong or I'm just blind folded. If I had any business brains I would be promoting and targeting the smokers, ie, local shops, pubs etc. There would be a huge amount of money to be made plus helping people overcome their 'addictions'
Mmmmm now theres a thought.. ha ha

That's the fight! We KNOW this works, we know it's good, and we know it's enjoyable, but the media is focused on keeping us buried under a rock, because their advertisers are Big Pharma, who don't want to lose sales of their patches and gum and pills.

If I had a dollar for every person who came here and said 'I had NO idea!", I'd own ProVape, not just a Provari. (They make the Provari)

ecigs are just starting to go mainstream. It's our job to help spread the word, and to point people here and to other forums, so they can find out, too. Every person who ends up in a brick and mortar shop buying an ego kit is a win - and even those who buy Blu and njoy help, because they'll see it could work, if it were just a little better...and end up here anyway.

Heh. If you are that new to quitting smoking don't over think when/if/how you should be quitting vaping too. At all of 5 days in you have only hit maybe/sorta/kinda/perhaps quit smoking. Get back to us after at least 30 days and how you deal with cravings - if any - during that period.

You can quit vaping if you want to and the time is right, but contemplating that after only 5 days of being analog free is not the time. We just had a member rejoin us after she stopped vaping for two years... and was staring a full blown smoking relapse in the face. Quitting smoking is a lifetime battle for many of us. Don't oversell yourself that you have found a miracle here that makes all that time smoking history just disappear in a matter of a few days.

I'm still a noob too. My 5 year plan (meaning long term) is to eventually cut the nic to 0 then give up the vape one day. But for now it's one day at a time. Today I'm just so thrilled to be smoke free I wouldn't want to do anything that would jeopardize that. After 40+ years of 1.5 PAD I'm in no hurry. So for now it's "vape on" but hope to start dropping nic levels, if ever so slightly, soon.

I'm pretty new to all this still, about a month in, and doing very well, no smoking at all.

Not to get all preachy about it, but I try really hard in my life to stay in the moment: Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not here yet, today is all we really have. Today, I'm vaping, happy with it, and not smoking. That's about as far as I've taken it.:)

I've been trying to quit smoking for years. I've tried everything and have had varying degrees of success.

My biggest issue is that I'm a musician(of the weekend warrior variety). I spend most of my weekends in bars, where smoking is permitted.

I've been vaping for about 8 months, I'm down to 3mg of nicotine and don't have any problem during my weekend activities staying off the cigs.

This is the only thing that I've had any longterm success with. Because I've lowered my nicotine intake, there are times I'll set my APV down for hours and not even think about it.

So I don't really have a plan, It just seems to be working itself out.

I too want to quit vape, but I've been doing this for about 3 weeks, stepped down my nic three times, back up half a step. My plan over the next couple of months is to drop to 0 nic and then after 3 months of nic free to drop the vape, except the occasional once in a while, like I enjoyed hooka when I was on the analogs. The real goal is to make it a hobby, not a habit. I enjoy it, just don't want to be dependent on it.

I never really thought about it really.

My first goal was simply to quit smoking. After 30 years of a PAD, I had all but given up on ever achieving that.

My next goal is to eventually get off the nicotine. I'm going though 3-3.5ml per day of 24mg juice right now. It got me off the Camels, but it's a LOT of nicotine. My plan is to take it in slow steps. Once every 3 months drop a level. That should give my body plenty of time to adjust and feel comfortable at the lower nicotine level before I drop it again. One day I hope to be 100% nicotine free.

I haven't really thought about what happens after that. I'm just taking things one step at a time right now.

So true. I still smoke 2 - 4 analogs a day. Not looking at quitting vaping for a while.

. Just wondering what the general consensus is on how many backup mods one should have?

Weell, opinions about that differ, of course

But looking at various avatar pics and other pixelated sources, one could make an educated guess :

If you're capable of taking over emergency power supply for a small town just with your stashed mod-batteries, you might consider slowing down just a little on your shopping .. ;)
