They're using a 510 in the pics, but it should get you started. This is one thing I haven't tried, yet. Good luck & post pics of your rebuilds.
Excellent! thank you, thank you, thank you.
I don't really have any intention of rebuilding anything although I suppose that's in the realm of possibility if it's something simple. I just want to do a post mortem. That has already helped a lot. I was thinking there might have been some electronic components in there like a resister or something but it appears it's simply a coil wire and nothing else.
You dont say what Atty's your using in your post, are they all HV Attys, and are they 510/801/901/ I have Attys that last for months at 6v so you must be doing something wrong if you blowing Atty's like this, I chain
vape as well and they still last me a long time. please give some more info and maybe we can help you out some more here before you need to go the route your going.
Not much info. The majority of these kinds of failures are immediate.
As above, I do 6v which is actually probably closer to 7 on fresh batteries. I'm using the 15266 3.0v protected batteries from MadVapes. The charger outputs 4.02v. The batteries come off the charger with a resting voltage of about 3.4v - 3.5v.
These are all "regular" atomizers. Some 510s but mostly 901s. I did try 5 801s. 4 burnt out instantly (like during the first puff) and the last one that worked for a while, I really didn't like at all. 510s or 901s for me. I do use KR808D cartomizers as well. I've never really had a cartomizer burn out on me. I'll use/refill them for a really long time until they just get too funky and then toss them.
I measure resistance on all my new atomizers right out of the box before using. A good number of them simply go 3 or 4 puffs and dead. Measure resistance again and it's an open circuit, so it appears that the coil simply melted or a solder joint failed as soon as it got hot. I suspect it could be the latter sometimes because it doesn't show as a completely open circuit. The meter does register something... sort of bounces around showing thousands of ohms or millions but different than just the zero it shows without the leads touching the atomizer.
Real Joye 510s
DSE 901s
I have 3 of those 510s from H20. 1 burnt out after a day and the second one has been going for weeks.
Routine on first use is to sort of blow them out, 4 drops of
juice directly on the bridge, wait a minute, vape. I drip -- often. They never get close to dry.
Immediate failures happen on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th puff. First or second puffs are as expected.
Some will go for a few hours.
Some will go for about 1.5 days.
If they make it past that they usually last a few days or go for more than a week.
