Porcher Odyssey Pre-Planning Discussion Phase II

I, for one, don't want to put into the "general fund" to cover others if they can only stay for a couple of days rather than the week I'd be paying for. I also have to cover my round trip flight. I'm a bit disappointed in this latest major glitch, to say the least..

I've gotten over my pique, and first, want to apologize for what I said when i went to the hangout after i read Willie's last post...I allowed my immediate reaction to take over instead of calming down first. Then I recalled that I'd said that I'd do a roadtrip with a couple of people ( why'd the letters go on a slant?!..oh well....) I could have been in the same boat as Willie if I hadn't changed my mind about it early on.Luckily, I'd already done a cross-country trip a few years ago,and it was very hard on me....it took me days to recover...and i don't even have heart issues....so I changed my plans for this trip and decided to fly instead.

Maybe his heart was in the right place when he offered to do the road trip and hated to have to change it and so put it off till the other day.

Willie, I apologize for what i said in the hangout the other night.

We'll all, together, get this worked out, just a glitch in the works temporarily...

I do appreciate every ones comments .. my truck gets about 16 miles per, it's a 14-15 hour drive from St Louis to Bradenton and Mr Google shows numerous road construction on the route .. flying in is certainly cheaper for me, much less stressful and less time consuming .. and I can always rent a car if needed ..

All I'm asking is some patience for the time being .. and a tiny touch of understanding from all would be nice as well ..

The one thing I believe can be said with a great degree of certainty is : We've months and months to go, and scenarios have a degree of possible change with everyone involved ..

Don't you just find a place and then all fly there or some drive if its convenient.

I fear, perhaps, we moved too fast on this Odyssey and it's going to leave the porch in splinters and hard feelings. I sincerely hope folks can be tolerant of each others situations and we don't lose anyone along the way. Seems we're having a rough time ... we've always referred to each other as extended family ... time for the family to come together and work together ... please!

Mike, for my part, it was initially a shock and part of that was based on the fact that i thought Willie was kinda the " leader of the pack", so to speak...we were "building a house" based on his " foundation" and then it appeared to be crumbling down right in front of our eyes. We may have put too much of a lot of the responsibility on one persons shoulders. This will all work out beautifully in the end, I have no doubt. All families squabble occasionally

All lives matter. Everybody is essential. We're as close as family. Let's stay that way. Sometimes family feels hurt or betrayed. Forgiveness demonstrates unconditional love. Willie apologized and needs to forgive himself.

If no one else is going to say it, I will !! Willie already feels bad enough.....seems to me the forgiveness here needs to come from those who are unforgiving towards him. Are we all so perfect that we can't forgive another imperfect human being ?

A few have met, but not most of us. And yes, we were finding a place and trying to make arrangements to get there one way or another.

It said no smokers. None of us smoke... Besides, even if we were all vaping and he owner came in they'd pretty much never know that we were vaping. All the windows are open and I for one plan to spend a lot of time chatting by the pool, or in the pool or at the Tiki bar.

Yes I did see the no smoking and was wondering as you don't know some peoples opinions on vaping.

Ok, ok, we're back on track. Whew! I just ordered a new bathing suit yesterday. My old one is about 10 years old so it's time. I'd hate to get there and have it spring a leak or too. Somebody might get hurt!

I don't know how it is these days in Oz, but within the USA, analog smoking bans are pretty widespread .. and, there are actually some places that ban the use of a PV as well .. while I feel safe in saying if 15 people were all using a PV in the same room, it might tend to cloud up some, but it's a far cry from 15 Marlboros being fired up at the same time ..

That's funny. I was looking at mine yesterday and thinking....wow, what a great excuse to get a new one. But I'm dreaming here, based on my current holistic diet, I might even get the op to buy a smaller size, so I'm waiting. It's true, a lot can happen in 8 months Positive thinking...I've already lost about ten pounds.

Despite the only vaping store in this State being closed down due to not being allowed to sell a product that resembles a smoke - yes most do not but facts don't always come into some peoples decisions.

I've not seen or are aware of any vaping policies here.
Smoking has been banned from pubs and such , most have since build an outdoor area for smoking.
Of course the casino still has an area you can go.

I think that many people here when confronted by someone vaping in a non smoking place would still say no smoking.
You could point out what we all know but many people would not listen as they would see that as you getting the better of them.

Well, I've stayed in several hotels where they had no smoking and a fine to clean everything if people do smoke in the room. We've vaped freely in the room and never had a problem. Even left some of the vaping stuff out and nobody seemed to have a problem with it.

Just glancing in here from time to time at first I thought people were going to drive the entire journey on page one.
Picking up people and vehicles along the way , one long convoy and stopping at hotels along the way.
