Tibby.......................

My point is ... if they show up a X:26, what happens?
Does "not allowed in the forum anymore" disqualify their past entry? Hmmmm?

I'm pretty sure that moving on is a disqualifying event, but beyond our scope.

if they show up at X;26, they do not turn...and are not present at their avi party. unless the kind people on the thread at the time are willing to reschedule it for the next hour...

I think we're all kind people. However, leaving it arbitrary provokes favoritism accusations if denied one time and allowed another, IMO.

lol. I just realized that they have to show up BEFORE the scheduled time. If they show up after, and weren't logged in, they won't turn for another hour (at the next :25 after).

OR

Do we go with Kat's Hour... AFTER turning. So then it becomes, show up within 15 minutes BEFORE turning, or withing an HOUR after the scheduled time (and be logged in so their status changes).

You'd have to wait up to confirm it.....egads! You guys sure you don't want to lose the whole attendance requirement?

in that case they lose out

FYI - the above should have been "DO we go with Kat's HOUR after turning...."

Edited in my copy, not the quoted ones.

I don't quite understand what you mean by this.... i think i get your point, that if they show up after the scheduled turn, they have missed the scheduled turning, and assuming they were logged off, then it will take an hour for them to turn.

If they're there within a half hour before they turn, it won't matter. meeting the criteria for the first requirement makes the second one moot.

Beyond our scope for the bonus drawing? (Maybe j0ker has some stuff about all contests open to active members only... IDK).

if they're not on the forum they can't be present for the turning, so are not eligible for the bonus. they actually can't enter their welcome thread in the contest either.....

not an hour after turning!!! argh. you're right, they have to show up before turning. and 15-30 min before gives them time to play.

Can we say that they have to post WITHIN the 30 minutes prior to turning. if it's within 30 min, they can still show up 5 before and be fine. that way they could be there as far as a half hour in advance, but there's flexibility if they can't get there before the last minute.

(if we want a bonus drawing for avatar parties we have to be able to measure attendance)

i believe ''present at their scheduled turning'' is all that we should put in - that means if they have a problem and slide in the last minute and can post it's ok .....

that's fine. i just thought that within 30 minutes also allowed them to slide in at the last moment

I really do prefer the loosest rules possible but...

we started with "at their turning"

someone said, how is that defined and how can we verify?

we shifted to "for the fireworks"

someone said, how is that defined and how can we verify?

so we tried to nail down a time period, which is, of course a PIA, and has it's own problems.....

(we all want some sort of structure, but none of us want to say no, and we can't have it both ways. If we have a structure, eventually we will have to say no.)

CES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "DO" quote was just explaining my edit to stuff that was quoted by others before my editing.

As to if they show up before and are not late you don't have to worry about the 2nd.... yeah, I know! But that was when I was asking "what if they are 1 minute late?". ......

So, we that are here at the moment agree that they have to show up before scheduled time because few people (if any) want to wait another hour if they are late.... due to how the forum software works, they won't turn if they weren't logged in. If they were logged in, they showed up at their party after turning. So you're saying "no entry?"

Man. That's harsh. IMO. If they were logged in and show up within a few minutes of the "turning time" and that is the same as the scheduled party time, and their status says "ECF Veteran" now... why not? The thing is ... you didn't see it NOT say ECF Veteran before... so I suppose that's an issue if it's a rescheduled turning. We could always check 1st I guess... since we'd be waiting around anyway.

CES. You're tired! That was.... Have a party, enter contest, get canned before the end of the year drawing.....

In other words... "Moved on" after attending the Avatar Party.

i said we deal with it as a reschedule, but you said we couldn't...so that makes it a "no", yes?

i am tired. less frustrated than i was...but i am not speaking Atty very well this evening

if they're not here, they can't get the PM telling them they won. And i suspect that moved on = disqualify- but that really is out of our scope- it is up to the person actually doing the drawing....
