my utmost concerns

postponing a turning because of time restrictions on the prevet's or committee's side atm takes away the eligibility for the grand prize. that, imo, should go ......
attending the turning at the proper listed time is still a must. the team is there for the prevet waiting.
also, if somebody asks for a welcome thread and then finds the time after all to be with us during his/her turning should be eligible for the grand prize drawing after all.

There is a year long running contest with monthly drawings and drawings for Grand Prizes on Jan. 1, 2013. In honor of 2012 members who have or will turn Veteran, it is called the Veteran's Contest.

For a peek at the prizes bounce

Contest rules for those turning Vet in 2012
You need a Welcome Thread started before you turn Veteran in the Veteran's Forum. You will use the URL to enter the 2012 Veteran's Contest.

This thread can be started by ANY Veteran. So if you have a Veteran friend, see if he/she will open it.

Sorry non vets, that link is to the Veteran's Forum, you can not see it. But you can still pass the link on. :)
Please do not approach a Veteran you don't know. Hint: Take the time to make a new friend. :)

If you don't know a Veteran who will do this for you, visit the PreVet thread and they will set you up for one.

Or if you want to Celebrate your day, visit the PreVet thread and they will be glad to party with you.

The way to beginning is now.

I'll leave the bottom for a bit until I hear feedback.

That's what I said whis...at the end of the post. However, I wanted to reply to j0ker so he knows I'm not accusing him or jj of not following the rules, I was saying that following the rules is...hard... given what we were doing and the text of the rules. I needed to answer his question.

Yes. Moot point, if he is now willing to change/clarify the rules. So let's move forward.

OK we seem to be discussing several things here:

1) How they get a welcome thread (could be started by anyone...outside of prevet celebration thread too)
2) Who is qualified for what.
3) Is the grand prize qualification different from the monthly?
4) Is there a timing rule at all.

I want it simple. However, I think that participation in the PVT should be part of it. If they want to create their own welcome threads outside of the PVT group and the list and such... fine. However, that doesn't have any participation in the group... so why do they get to enter the contest?

as to welcome threads jj new post reads fine to me. some people do not like to approach a group but if they have a vet who will start a thread in the vip subforum for them that should be ok for the monthly drawings and i agree it should be done before they turn because that's the way it started out

My input

1)Still has to be started by Veteren
2)Any pre-vet with a welcome thread
3) No
4) No

Remember folks its a contest....just like any other and any other contest is open to anyone, it justs the odds of winning & number of entries that cause the outcome
