Hello All,

I have been followed this thread very closely, with order#151xx here, I am very excited with the soon to be mine ELA. I do have a question regarding kicks and crown. ELA will be my very first mechanical, since it doesn't have a voltage control like the mini provarie that i have, how fair does it go for vaping? With the voltage drop as the battery life go lower, will the vape be in consistent? Typically, I don't go sub ohm (not yet anyway,) my set up for aga-t, term and killer usually around 1.5 to 2.1, is kick/crown recommended for my style of vaping?

Thanks for your help,
Andy

...and my ELA still hasn't shipped after my Monday notice lol. If my kayfun gets here from California faster I'm not going to be a happy camper

I still haven't even got a notice yet. On a brighter note, I haven't put my kayfun down at all. They are awesome. I haven't set the Ithaka up yet, but not looking forward to non res wire with the ithaka. I will put the doodlebug on the ela (someday soon I hope), if I don't get the hang of the ithaka.

Hello All,

It depends on the voltage you're running your Provari on. However, whatever your battery or your atomizer resistance, you will feel the drop in voltage sooner or later. Performance-wise, an ELA with a 1.0 ohm coil will hit harder on a full battery than a 2.0 ohm coil on high voltage, but will eventually drop because the current is unregulated. Kick is more about consistency and less about power because you can get 10W easily without a SLR coil

just a quick question with those who have the kayfun... have you tried doing a hybrid mesh/wick setup with the kayfun? if so, does it work just as well as just silica wick setup?

Haven't tried it personally but I've seen people using it. For those who like the way flavors feel on mesh it is the way to go. Beware though, if you don't raise the coil enough it may very easily touch the metal, which WILL cause a short. On the other hand, if the distance from the mesh to the screw is too big, you are likely to get a hot spot. Purely theoretically the Kayfun would be harder to set up than a regular genisis because the surface which could come in contact with the mesh is much larger. Practically, I have no clue. I'm sure someone's already set it up that way and made a video on youtube so I'm not sure why you're not there, searching for it ;)

I plan to set my kayfun up with mesh/silica! If I can't then I sell it! I don't do plain silica! I have build on some tight drippers with my mesh silica, some are very tricky, I have confidence from the videos I have seen that it should be a breeze to set up. Use your mesh only where the coils are going to be, you should have no problem. Mindtroverted is correct though, don't let the mesh touch any of the walls or the post, free float it.

Vcoupe, as long as he ships today, then we should be able to get them the same day as our kayfuns. He usually ships in the evening, around 4:30 or 5:00 pm. Lets just cross our fingers he meets the 5:00 pm deadline! Hoping here!

thanks for the replies! i was just asking coz i saw this vid on youtube: Kayfun 3.1 with hybrid wick - YouTube
and it looks like it's working well. it also looks like the brushed ver which if it is... then i made the right decision! lol

i really do enjoy the flavor of straight silica in my RDA but i'm gonna try a hybrid today to see how i like the flavor.

You ever wait in a long line for a Roller Coster? You wait and wait but finally get on the loading platform... Now all you have to do is wait for the Coster to complete its ride cycle and return to the loading platform.....You know your up next and thats all that matters! :headbang:
One thing I learned while waiting for my Shockwave is patience is a virtue....All good things will come to those that wait...ELA

Yeah except for I've never waited for a week on the platform...

Oh and Vcoupe, don't be mad. Maybe if you go camp in Minnesota you will get your ELA faster. Unless you have a Filipino mod on the way too. Then I guess it doesn't matter. Lmao!

Oh jeez, what's that blasphemy stuck to the body? Whoever did that must be the type of person to buy a brand new Acura TL and immediately slap a bumper sticker across the back.

kayfun guys, question. Have a polished ela on order (well 2 actually) and i ordered a brushed kayfun and polished kayfun. which one will match the finish of the ela the best? Ill have the kayfuns way before my ela and i promised the 2nd kayfun to a buddy but not sure which one i should keep

Keep the polished kayfun, the kayfun gamma and beta don't match well to many things. The brushed has a darker tint to it like it's anodized tint coated. It's nice, but polished is what you probably want.

my brushed kayfun expected delivery on the 11th! i'll see how well the brushed matches the polish of my p+16. i read in a UK forum that it comes with some sort of scratch resistant coating that you can you scour off yourself. there's a method or w/e but the person said the fastest, and cheapest way was to use one of those dish sponges with the green scour pad.
