Sounds like your kick has been stored away for a while? I know how that is. Mine's sitting in it's jewel box waiting till I get my ELA. You may try taking something to the contacts and spring to clean them up, maybe brasso or something if you haven't already. That's all I got, sorry. Or maybe do you have another mod you could try it out in to compare results?

Just to clarify, Cjax means cleaning the Kicks brass contacts (top and bottom and side spring), they can tarnish up causing resistance and poor performance. Coat with an anti oxidant such as Noalox. Never sand or polish your ELA's contacts, they are Preciouse Metal Plated Rhodium over Gold and will never tarnish or oxidize. Only wipe with a soft cloth to clean.

I found my winning setup for my Kayfun. 34 gauge 2.1 ohm 3-wrap coil around a single strand of 3mm silica @ 8 watts. This vape is tops bloobie! Full, rich flavor, solid TH, full of win.

I don't really understand the latest vogue aiming for thicker wire, more wraps and sub-ohm resistance. Thinner wire burns hotter at a given power level, whereas thicker wire alters the flavor in sad, sad ways. Plus lower resistance = higher amperage = quicker battery drain. What is the appeal of sub ohm + uber wattage just to get a thick coil to perform its base function of getting hot enough to matter? It seems like a hack to me -- one you might use temporarily and reluctantly until your replenishment order of the better kanthal arrives. Sure, the vapor is thick and it looks impressive, but the flavor is tinny. All flash, little substance as far as I have experienced. I've only been able to achieve accuracy and intensity of flavor with higher gauge coils. Lower gauge with more wraps and more power makes my coconut vanilla custard cupcake taste like rice pudding, or sometimes just straight pg with a hint of car air freshener.

34 gauge is better.

Oh, man! What a flavor. It's like a coconut cake just flew into my mouth and melted. The only thing that would make this better is if my contoured T tip hadn't mysteriously disappeared. :( I think after pay day I might order a contoured shorty.

I was wondering if anyone who has their ELA is using it with a KICK. I notice my battery life is shorter than I remember. Seems all my batteries from 18350 and up have noticeably shorter active time.

I take it you mean shorter than if you were using another mod with a kick, not just shorter lifespan in general, right?

Here is what I have found...lets say I am using an 18490 with a Kick set at 10 watts....
In my other mod(Provari) I use an 18490 adjusting my voltage so it gives the same 10 watt vape...
The Kicked mod run times have always been shorter than the Provari using the same 18490 battery/atomizer... Not sure why, but it is....??

Yeah, thanx for adding that. After i read it again i realized someone not following the conversation could get the wrong idea. I'd hate to be the one who led someone to pretty much destroying their new mod! Yes, PLEASE don't sand the mod, just the kick's contacts if necessary!

I said the same exact thing before I found my perfect set up...If I handed you my ERA wrapped with a 4 wrap of 28 awg on bamboo wick you'd change your tune both the flavor and vapor production is beyond my Kayfun, but I do like not having to drip every 10 to 20 vapes lol ;)

ERA is a great atty! Immortalizer has some of the best flavor out there, I believe it is due to the ceramic plate. Flavor and vapor are a total win and surpass the ERA in that regard. The Kayfun when set up correctly has flavor very comparable to the immortalizer, great vape, great vape! A dripper with a tank on it, that is a dream come true!

OHH and the kayfun threads onto the kicklet cap with no problem what so ever!

Thank you Forced, I would never to something like that to my ELA contacts. I was wondering, I have a very "sweaty" atomizer and vapor many times backwashes down the center down to the 510 intake holes. I get condensation build up on my ELA contacts. I take out the contact pin and rinse with hot water or mild soap. If it gets really messy, is it okay to wipe with a bit of 91% Iso alcohol if exta messy?

Thanks

I wouldn't bother with the alcohol unless there's something that soap wont take off.
