Ted approves!!

For those that are wondering. 18650 with accent ring on bottom. Oring on top edge and bottom edge for ease on fingers. I get better piece of mind seeing the vent holes. I really love this mod. I will be buying a couple more.

That size compared to Ted is about right with the movie :X

...Anyways, amorphous silica particles are round and uneven in shape, kind of like the moon with it's craters. There are no sharp edges to puncture and irritate tissue. Crystalline silica is, like the name says, crystalline in structure which is sharp and will puncture and stick into tissue. This is bad as the embedded silica will do very bad thing to the tissue over time. This is how asbestos causes it's problems. With all that said, as long as you are not taking hits off your wick while you are dry burning it, you should not be inhaling wick material as dust will not suspend in the air when it is wet...

I'll preface by stating that I am a physician. There was a study released by the NIH regarding the health hazards of amorphous silica. I have not seen any human studies regarding this topic, but animal inhalation studies demonstrated partially reversible inflammation and granuloma formation after exposure to amorphous silica. While there was no progressive fibrosis seen in these animal models, there have been a small number of reported cases of silicosis (in humans) due to amorphous silica exposure. Remember, these cases were industry related, and the likelihood of this happening as a result of vaping is extremely small. Silicosis (or any pneumoconiosis for that matter) is a result of chronic exposure to inordinately large amounts of silica (or other foreign substance). As long as you keep your wicks wet, you'll be fine; even the dry hits that we all get every now and then won't hurt. So sit back, relax, and enjoy vaping with your ELA!!!

This is the most fantastic post I've seen on ECF in months (aside from Super-T release announcements).

My tweaks for a leak less genesis are as follows:

1. Leave the fill screw IN!!!
2. Roll a solid mesh wick -or- roll a "straw" mesh wick with a piece of wick material inside (I like fiberglass right now). Also, leave a tail at the bottom to soak up juice at the end of a tank!
3. Make sure the wick fills the entire wickhole, with ONLY enough room to allow it to move within...NO MORE NO LESS!!

Now you can enjoy laying your genesis on its side with only residual condensation able to escape from the air inlet. This is why I still lay it on a paper towel, otherwise, lay it down with the air inlet pointing up! WOW!! GENIUS!! :D

P.S. - You can now also vape vertically without a wicking challenge.

I would like to know the tweaks :) How are you keeping your genesis atomizers from leaking?

David I don't need to send the lock ring across the country to figure it out my friend. I took a video if you want it, and don't mind the NY accent if you do want it, but the inner clamp seems to be slightly loose within the recess for it to slot. I'll try to expand it slightly or gently see if I can see where it's wrong. Once re adjusted, it's no problem however if you are interested in seeing how or why this occurred, I'd imagine it's something simple and obvious. One guess I have is that the back edges are chamfered/ angled which is making it shift. I'm not sure but you have a bunch of ELAs in house to peek at. Let me know if you want the videos, they were with AW batteries.

Sorry, I don't have anything mature or useful to add to this conversation, but this immediately made me think of this. :(

LOL. I prefaced only because I see a lot of misinformation spread about health issues from people that are probably not qualified to say what they're saying. It would be like me telling Vcoupe how to fix his car!

Oh no, don't take the silly video I posted as trying to take away from your statement. There are definitely a lot of people on the internet that try to pass themselves off as experts on things they really shouldn't be giving advice on. Ever try looking for reliable legal advice online? Yuck.

No offense taken vap. That's part of why the SuperT subforum is my favorite forum to visit; we can say what's on our mind and people here will rarely take offense to it.

You must have something defective. We've encountered zero issues with the locking ring. You shouldn't have to crank it down super tight (just a firm tightening, nothing you need overly crank on as you describe) and it shouldn't lose grip over time as you describe (we accounted for that in the design) or mark up the tube at all when tightened down. Obviously the tube can get surface scratches over time from sliding in and out when changing batteries, but tightening it down, even very tight shouldn't leave any mark what so ever. '

Send it in and we'll make it right, it has a lifetime warranty:

Absolutely, and it KILLS David I know to hear anything negative or not perfect because I know his type.... I'm the same way... At least from what I gather, which is difficult because most of David's replies are super robotic lol. "the precise ELA is .......... Did I mention it has precious metal rhodium plated contacts".. :D. Super cool guy, and is a professional 100%.
