Yeah, that was just a demo for the friend who I bought my 2nd ELA for (I own it now). Another user here dug it up from the internets and posted it. It was never intended for more than two eyes. :p

As always, Todd did a fine job with his usual enthusiasm! Someone else posted another Super T video but it's just 47 seconds of him puffing and coughing. I'm not sure why someone would bother taking the time to record and post that.

Did Dave answer that? The battery caught on flames and burnt 2 holes through the carpet. The floor below us also heard it.

P.S sorry to keep asking. I'm pretty much freaked out. If the ela in 18350 mode doesn't vent, which I highly doubt because I know super t devices are usually over engineered, I'll pretty much use it in anything but 18350 mode. I'd really like to know for a peace of mind.

Here are a couple of David's quotes, both from the Simplicity thread. The 1st quote is the one that I had referenced earlier...

The Oring is made of low melt point Buna, operating range up to 250F. Batteries vent in excess of +1000F and at 5,000+PSI in an enclosed tube, it'll instantly blow through the oring like it doesn't even exist. Your breath or a ballon is about 10psi and 80F , so it can't be tested that way. If you wanted you could cut a small section out of the oring. Also, there is adequate battery to wall clearance for escaping gases from the top to travel to the bottom.

Thank you for bringing up what Super-T has always been at the forefront of: Safety. Super-T Manufacturing pioneered Venting in mods and was the first ever company to incorporate venting into a mod over four years ago in the original T-1.

Super-T also incorporates other unseen safety venting techniques that aren't obvious at first glance but are a product of their design. Such is the case in the Precise ELA, with a non threaded extension tube, the entire mod can expand apart without fragmenting and on the Simplicity, we employed a shear bolt design so that the entire button can shear away to release excess pressure.

Super-T will always strive to make some of the most reliable, well built and safest mods possible.

David, is there any chance in the future you might offer modified top accent rings that are 2mm+ longer than the ones we get now? I've noticed a lot of people have a small gap due to differing battery lengths and that's something I'm hoping to avoid. I don't have my ELA yet so this might not be an issue for me, but I'm a bit OCD like that. It might then also be possible to stack two accent rings to completely cover the telescopic tube in 18650 mode, if one were so inclined. I don't know the measurements of the gap or accent rings, so that may be infeasible.

What would've been cool is something that functions very similar to the adjustable center post. Essentially there would be an adjustable battery post that would allow for different battery variations at a given length and would nullify any gaps when used with an extended accent ring. One ring to rule them all. I'm not an engineer so there may be no need for something like that, I'm just thinking out loud. Of course a small magnet could do the same thing I guess haha.

Just noticed a guy in the classifieds trying to trade a ggts for an ELA. If he was a few days earlier he could have put his name down for the pre-order. I am thinking now that Tod has done a pretty good review that the ELA will get a lot more attention. Odd timing that Tod did his review a day after the end of the pre-order. I wander how things will go for the ELA now that the pre-purchase option is gone? When will it be up for grabs again?

I'm holding out for a 26650 Simplicity since my poor judgement left me ShockWave-less. That'll be a good batt for sub ohms!
Nach the 26650 is the best for sub ohm vaping since it holds a high voltage for so long..I put the 0.8 sub ohm on my Kicked ELA set at 10 watts....it does not fire it.. I guess it cant produce a low enough voltage (2.84 volts) to give a 10 watt vape...

Now a question for the vaping veterans - Kick versus Crown? I've done the research and there are pluses and minuses to both. They cost about the same so what does the voice of experience say? Whatever one I go with will always be used in a Kiklet so keep that in mind if you have a recommendation. I will also be configured for 18650 mode (always), thanks for the help and any suggestions.

I know I probably don't need one, but if I see the word SALE, then I own it :D
ELA + Kiklet + RBA + Tanbur T-Tip, I can say with confidence and no fear of reproach here's my Long John Silver lol.

I personally don't use either one. I only got into mods so I could go unregulated.
There's a whole thread on that though...

Lol. That means I'm thankful the rush to get one will be too late. Sorry ordering already closed. Like me being late to the Kayfun lite party. Grrr sitting on the waiting list for that.

I love the Crown but mine has had issues with HR 3.0 ohm atomizers as of late.. In VV it works fine but in VW set at 10 watts its not delivering enough volts to give a 10 watt vape... Its being sent back to Artisan vaping for replacement...
Overall its a great device that has a lower voltage cutoff than a Kick so you get more vape time out of a battery. The Crowns contact pin is much larger then a Kicks tiny spring.....
My Kicked Precise or Shockwave always had misfires that drove me crazy......constant reseating of the contact spring...
The Kick on the other hand loves the ELA as much as I do....3 days and not a single misfire....
I would get both a Kick and a Crown if it were me.....

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Kick and Crown. I'm leaning toward the Crown 2.0 at the moment, I do like on-the-fly adjustment + resistance check. I don't intend to use the ELA/Kiklet combo all the time, just have the option if I'm in the mood for something different, the Kiklet makes switching trivial - plug 'n play.

LOL why on earth are you Kicking a sub ohm coil?? Just go straight mech in your ShockWave brotha!
