Oh, I forgot to mention, plated posts for the ELA are back in and those going out now have the plated posts and the ones we sent out the past couple of weeks with brass posts(no worries, we kept a list of which ones were sent out), we'll send out the plated post for you tomorrow.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9XeEbkk7ng&feature=youtube_gdata_playerAwesome. Also, tried to thread in the bottom brass accent ring for the first time ever and it refuses to thread in all the way. Tried it from both ends and its still the same

ELA - Imgur

The marks on the locking piece refuses to come off even with a terry cloth

Heres the video. You can hear it firing and not firing depending on where my finger is on thr button. You have to listen really well to hear though so might wanna turn the volume up. The atty does pop once though so just a warning

Alright throwing this out there. I over saw (overheard doesn't quite have the same meaning on the interwebs) someone talking about a 26650 ELA. you know my first impression that would be cool, a 26 series telescope, I mean it hasn't been done before. then I start thinking the max diameter of battery the ELA holds is an 18 series and the diameter of the ELA is 24. that is a 6 mm difference. Based on that with just a 6mm difference that would make a 26650 ELA about 32 mm. at 32 or more mm that brings a new definition or perspective to the saying, "it took two hands to hold it".

Sounds interesting and expensive - Considering people walk around with box mods i would not say its too fat. I think there is a market for people with big hands. Finding an rba to suit it would be a mission. What is your source anyway mate?

Thanks for this concrete and comprehensive visualization. ;)

It must've been the Spheroid. I assume one side of the coil shorted somehow. My only explanation for why it stopped happening is the heat must've either 'jolted' the coil back in place, or built up a nice protection of carbon so it wouldn't happen again.

I usually wrap my coils around a jeweler's screwdriver first, and then thread cotton into the coil afterwards. This time, however, I wrapped directly around some ekowool, and I must've done a shoddy job keeping the wire off the thumb nuts. If it's not my coil, then it might be the positive insulator ring, which doesn't seem as snug as it once was. There are also rubber rings underneath the thumb nuts that look a bit overcompressed. I think I'm going to order some replacement parts.

Considering I'm using a SS drip tip, I would prefer not to experience this fault through my lips.

That would be some skull-crackin' good!

I just hope you find the problem, intermittents' make diagnosis difficult if not impossible. You're looking in the right places though, hope you find the failure site. I've been thinking about something else, was that a P18650 in the ELA when the shorts occurred? If so, begs the question why didn't the short-circuit protection kick in??

I don't really see the point in a 26xxx telescoping mod. It's already going to be large enough that you may as well just use the 26650 and have a small amount of length over the 26500 battery. The 26500 battery is similar in performance to an 18650, so you wouldn't really get much benefit out of using a 26500 over a standard 18650 PV anyway.
