Precise ELA Telescoping Mod by Super-T!

It's been a little while since I've used any of my Kayfuns, but I've just discovered microcoils and organic cotton. Decided to give it a go. 7 wraps using 28awg and meters out to .9-1.0 ohms. The first 1/4 tank was kinda nasty but it's now vaping really well. Definitely a winner on the ELA!

I am jumping on a co-op for the Russian 91% just so it can chill on my satin ELA when it gets here..

I'd really like to find a way to rid it of the writing on the base though..

Nice response! I was thinking of getting in on the coop for the russian but I forgot about it and picked a couple up out of the classies already. One is for one of my nephews, other is for me; plus I already have a KFL+. I do not need anymore...maybe just an Ithaka or Taifun

Are you using the organic cotton wick from HDV? I've been using that stuff almost exclusively for the longest time, and you definitely need to boil it prior to use.

Alright so I need help. I've given up. I cannot use my ELA anymore until I figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I know for a fact it's user error, my 10 dollar k101 also is hitting more - so I've done something to my ELA to make it very weak. I don't know what. Same battery, atty, atty screwed on same firmness, etc. Helios RDA is what I'm using, but i've tried others, so I don't know that it's related to my atomizer at all. Tested multiple times just now with my cyclone and same result

I've cleaned it thoroughly, reattached everything multiple times. I have, in the past, gotten hot button due to some of the weird atomizers I play with - but everything on the ELA looks fine other than some tiny black marks on the button, etc.

Taken it apart and put it back together a thousand times - nothing I do makes it work. It basically hits like the battery is almost depleted all the time now.

Can people just throw ideas at me so I can try everything? I haven't cleaned my titan in 2 months and I know for a fact the ELA is far better performance-wise, so something needs to be fixed.

Maybe I should send it to david to look at? The only thing I can think of is possibly the way the bottom contact is hitting the battery - I know due to the o-ring at the bottom the battery can wobble around and not be even before attaching the top half of the ELA - but I have lined it up perfectly multiple times and still nothing so I'm still lost.

Any help is appreciated.

I just wish her lock button would break in before I break my fingers. Any suggestions? She's really stiff still. But then I'm getting a lot older also and the weather change hasn't helped at all. It was 60 degrees yesterday and this morning it was 20 degrees with a wind chill of 11. Welcome to Oklahoma.

It sounds like you are at a perplexing point. I would contact David first and he can help you out. The only thing I can think of is and I know it obvious and you have probably already done it, but have you tried unscrewing the top contact off, then screw in your atty, then screw in the contact up to where it doesnt go in further. Maybe your top contact is not making enough contact with your atomizer? THen adjust the telescopic so everything is tight but not too tight.

You said you have black spots on your button? That happened to someone before and it was because of a hard short, cant remember if it was in the atomizer or because things were screwed on too tightly. If you screw in your atty and the pin too tightly you can cause a short. Check things out again, and check your atomizer to make sure there is not a short.

Other than that its a very odd thing. I hope someone else chimes in with their wisdom , Im not an expert but I saw that no one addressed your concerns. I hope you get this figured out, It can be frustrating after all the wait and not have it work for you as it should.

I have found, Cotton balls, Cotton wicks, Rolled cotton(like I use), tend to initially taste like cotton. Boiling lessens that. No two cottons are equal. Some, I have found, are O.K. to just burn off the cotton taste on the initial build when you prime the atty(after build/before closing and tank fill). Others, not. Therefore, I tend to boil and dry all cotton first. Then, I also do the burn. Then, your whole tank tastes good from beginning to end.

No expert here, but:

1) I have black spots on my button. That happened after a bad short, due to a bad atty build.

2) Battery should not wobble. Mine doesn't. Is the rubber o-ring firmly seated in the bottom? Is the aluminum o-ring in the bottom in good shape?

I remember, someone on here, posted about taking her apart, and doing a 'fine' sandpaper job on it. I do not remember who that was.

Well, it could just be you aren't pushing it the right way... when I let people look at my ELA they can't seem to get the lock to do anything.. but I can operate my ELA lock and all with one hand.... with my pinky...

LOL, just slide back and forth a few times, it will get easier. If by any chance it slide all the way off, just use a q-tip or something soft but firm to push the little ball bearing-like ball back and slide the lock back on.

With my first ELA it was difficult but it softened up with use, I just did it even if it hurt a bit, after a day or so, its got nice and smooth. With my satin, now that was stiff, its been a few days and its getting softer but still quite firm.
