The new flat button shield will be up for sale later and we've already got it programmed into the machine and we'll start machining on them Wednesday and i'll get a pic up then. Should be able to start shipping them by Thursday or Friday. The machine is currently running Strata top caps, so I can't run one until those are done (different tooling for the different parts).

My .02 on flat buttons: For the most part, I'm not a fan of any flat button that you have to reach around a cap and push in on, (that includes this design and the other aftermarket flat button for the ELA), but you do the best you can with what you have. I more prefer an exposed type like the Simplicity or Carevella where you can just rest the side of your finger or palm right on the button, but You'll appreciate this design for it's integrated look and ability to use your stock button and locking mechanism. You won't want to miss out on this accessory as we won't be making any more in the near future and its a trick little piece of machining.

Today?....................

Why are you so against IMEO products, just curious? How are you liking your Taifun?

I'm not going get into it again here in public..

Let just say that during the early Super T days there was some theft of ideas, games and garbage that went down.. Many of the threads and post have long been deleted so you won't find them.

I can't support or spend a red cent on that product. As an OG Super T'er my support and $$$ go the innovative man him himself!

Enough about that because it long over and done with...

hope there will be a way, for those still waiting, to have the button shipped together with their ELA when time comes ;)

Well I hate to say it, but I was right. I went to the local hardware store and got some emery paper, so I could work on the locking button. Went to clean up the button, and now the retaining pin is down the kitchen drain. So I've got an ELA that is useless. Guess I'll take a button out of one of my P+ and use it for now. Can these be bought or repaired?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry to hear! Sounds like something, that would happen to me. :(

I am not attempting to take anything apart, until my 'backup' ELAs come.

Not a good way to start the day for you:( Go here and order a spring and just make a note in the comments section of your order its for a spring plunger for the locking mechanism and not a switch spring and we'll get one out to you: Super T ~ Parts & kits

I keep one of those mechanic's magnetic trays in my kitchen. I take my stuff apart over it. Otherwise, with my shaky hands, I would lose KFL fill screws daily. I have SS fine catchers in my sink drains. :)

Is it the sliding part of the button (with the "P" on it) or the ball detent that fell down the drain? If it's the ball detent, then I should have a spare one at home but I won't be able to check my spare parts bin until I get back from vacation (Jan 2nd). If I have the part you need, then PM me and I'll send it over once I get home.

It sounds like you are at a perplexing point. I would contact David first and he can help you out. The only thing I can think of is and I know it obvious and you have probably already done it, but have you tried unscrewing the top contact off, then screw in your atty, then screw in the contact up to where it doesnt go in further. Maybe your top contact is not making enough contact with your atomizer? THen adjust the telescopic so everything is tight but not too tight.

You said you have black spots on your button? That happened to someone before and it was because of a hard short, cant remember if it was in the atomizer or because things were screwed on too tightly. If you screw in your atty and the pin too tightly you can cause a short. Check things out again, and check your atomizer to make sure there is not a short.

Other than that its a very odd thing. I hope someone else chimes in with their wisdom , Im not an expert but I saw that no one addressed your concerns. I hope you get this figured out, It can be frustrating after all the wait and not have it work for you as it should.

Yep, I think this may be the problem. Turns out my center post in my helios can be pushed up (why the ....?) so basically any pressure on the battery was pushing the center post up because the ELA's pin is really easy to move as well (good for adjusting.)

Haven't quite figured out what the .... to do about it but I was curious if someone(you) could look at their center pin and tell me which way goes up? I swear I have it right but after messing around so many times I feel like maybe I should double check. I believe there is an identifying line under the white rubber on one side.

tyvm for the help

No expert here, but:

1) I have black spots on my button. That happened after a bad short, due to a bad atty build.

2) Battery should not wobble. Mine doesn't. Is the rubber o-ring firmly seated in the bottom? Is the aluminum o-ring in the bottom in good shape?

It doesn't wobble when all is put together, just when I initially drop it in. The o-ring looks fine on the bottom. The aluminum o-ring? Is that the C type piece of metal inside the screwy part covering up some of the threads? It looks fine but it probably is broken. I actually can't lock my ELA down in 18650 enough to where I can't simply pull it apart (does this mean that it's 100% broken? I always assumed that 18650 was just on the poor end of the deal when it comes to the telescopic system on the ELA.) I don't know of any full on o-ring that isn't black rubber so that worries me.

edit: also thank you !

Is it possible to someday have those bits and pieces as reg stock? I for one, would love to have back up of that little thing a ma bob and extra contacts. Other than those items that can fly away the compression rings and contacts are the only things I can ever see wearing out. I plan on having my ELAs till the day I die so I want to have those parts, just in case.
