TIP: For those that have ordered/received the new flat ELA button caps, polish the inner surface of the cap and also the outer sidewall of the button. I found that the travel of my button was a bit crunchy, probably because the button has more surface area contacting the bottom cap compared to the stock cap. I sanded down the satin surface of the button using 600 grit, and then followed that with a Cape Cod cloth. I also polished the inner surface of the new cap. The action of the button is so smooth now...as if it's sliding on glass!
If mine is like yours I might wipe a tad of Noalox on the inner surface of the cap before I resort to the sandpaper...
P.S. This is my 3,000 post.......... I am now officially a PV Master:cool:

If I remember correctly, David finishes our mods with 600 grit so it won't really change the finish unless you go against the grain. I only used it to strip the satin from the button. The polish is what really made the difference for me in the smoothness of travel. I haven't used noalox in years because it has a tendency to gunk up fairly quickly.

Congrats PV Master! At the rate at which I post, it will take at least another 10 years for me to reach that status!

Hmmm, never really noticed the whole "title" being correlated with the amount of posts. I just noticed how many posts I have made. Im not really a very "chatty" person, so I thought. I guess I tend to browse there's "new posts" and if I see something interesting or if someone has posted something and gets no replies, I try to get them some help.

It makes you threads so silky smooth though... You just need to wipe it off and re-apply it every now and then...

I hate goo on my stuff. Personally, I think David's SS threading doesn't need goo. The TIs, because of the nature of titanium, that's another story.

Yep, waiting on order containing flat bottom button, heavy duty spring for 14500 simplicity, & ss locking ring for 18650 simplicity. Just popped in here to check if maybe button was a pre-order. I have faith Super-T will get to it pretty quick. I don't have my ELA to put the button on yet but it is getting close!:) Waiting on the ELA Strata as well.

Gr modders have them in stock mate. They have the silver and clear tank. Got them both and they make the kayfun even more Awesome.

They sell the Kir Fanis version which is pretty much the same. I would order the mini and med kit as then you will have the silver ring and just the clear window.

Are any of these nano kits in the matte finish? Or do I just keep some of the parts from my kayfun 3.1 and just change the tank to keep it the same look?

Hmm... I mean you know how the Kayfun and Russian 91 have that matte finish? If I get the mini or med set, will it be possible to keep it that way or does putting either of those kits on make it a ss look

Ok this is what i did. I purchased a mini kit - Here it is pictured below. Notice there is a ss ring below the window. If you were to buy the replacement window of a medium size kit (not the med size kit but the replacement window for one). You could get rid of the ss ring and just have a larger window with no ss at all

P.s. sorry for posting a pic of another mod in here.

Ok I'm lost. What nano and mini kits are we talking about? I've got a KFL and the Russian 91%. Liking the sound of the nano. :)

Damn I haven't even been given a shipping notice for my buttons yet. Anyone else still waiting for shipping notice?

Same here. No shipping notice yet - and I placed my order within a few hours of them being available on the site.

Now that I'm seeing pictures of those that have already been received, I'm really starting to drool. They look fantastic. Between waiting for this and my KFL mini kit, I'm a basket case.

Snork have you gained access to my webcam? My Provari .....you mean my atty ohm checker? The Provari does not get used much these days....ever since the Kick2 was released;)

I sold mine after not using it for months. I haven't missed it yet. Not to say it's not a great device. But, an ELA or a simplicity with a kick2 just does the trick for me.
