I Do not know, It was just a random thought. Here is a pic of the titanium satin tube along with my satin and polished Ela buttons. The pic did not turn out all that well. The satin does look nice, But I like the natural raw metal look more. The differences are hard to see in the pic compared to real life. I also do not have the full mod yet, so its hard to get a real feel look of the satin tube.

I just had an idea for you satin lovers with non-matching (brushed/polished) attachments. How about ...

1. Put your attachment in a non-metallic container (like tupperware).
2 Fill the container up 75% with sand.
3. Button her up tight as a drum, duck-tape the lid down recommended.
4. Toss that baby in the dryer on low heat for about 30 minutes.

Who knows, that might just do the trick! As far as I know, satin finish = sand blasted finish.

Edit: Maybe put it in with your newly washed blue jeans to cut down on the noise. Might get that worn look with the blue jeans too!

Tripple digits half way to home
I'm sure hoping I don't have any problems with my hands and the flat button. Looks so sexy.
ELA started giving me some fits when I was locking her yesterday.
Guess tomorrow I'll do a little bit of bit of button work. . Or maybe swap out one of the P+ buttons till they settle in.

So far , installation is easy. Use...... Its a bit awkward, but probably due to my diminished finger dexterity ( stupid lame hands) Both a work of art, but Im going to give the new button a chance ..... but the slant is just more "natural" for me so far......

This was a very nice surprise from a wonderful, amazing friend.:)

I doubt, I will ever even try mine. Unless, someone tells me they are a lot easier for 'questionable' hands. :)

They are just as easy to fire IMO.....:vapor: I will have to say the original button has the best look, but with the flat bottom's solid stance and being less prone to accidental firing............its a winner in my book:)

And I agree, an 18650 accent ring that fills the gap completely, in polished, satin, and brass, would be perfect!!

While it sounds like a great idea, it would be hard to put into practice. First, there is the slight variation in battery lengths to take into account, then there is the exact position of the center pin that can also have some influence on how long that ring would need to be. It would be a slightly different length for every different setup (different batts, different attys, etc), so doing a "no-gap" accent ring would really have to be a custom deal in order to have it work perfectly :2c:

Your concerns would also apply to David making a "double ring" right? I never said "no gap", a tiny gap is fine and expected.
I've seen pics here that a single ring with smaller batt (forget the size) seems to fit perfectly and I'm sure it had a tiny gap.

Oh, I know. My post was more regarding the people that are OCD about having no gap at all ;-) I mostly use the Panasonic batts that are about 69mm long, so even two rings leaves a huge gap for me. I have two different brands of 18500 batts and one of them is nearly perfect for one accent ring (from no noticeable gap to about 1mm gap, depending on center pin position) while the other typically has about a 3mm gap. I can think of a few people that would be driven absolutely insane by that

Personally, I'm in the camp that likes the look of the single accent ring in 18650 mode

We've got such a huge variety of personalities in here, which I love because of all the different viewpoints I get to see on the discussions. The only "right" way is the way whoever is holding the ELA wants it :)

Me too, 18500/Kicked mode (same as 18650 mode un-kicked).........The gap not only looks unique but is a secure ribbed area to grip the ELA with thumb/forefinger...+++

Agreed, I will be sporting a double ring(s) in some config with tiny gap(s). If I order SS tubing to accomplish the task, I'll order 2 and post the pics, anavidfan has 1st dibs on that 2nd one :)

Im in for a double top tube ring. I dont mind a small gap like the one in my photo. It actually looks nice. I dont even mind the gap without the second ring, but with a wide, large, tall atomizer like the Kayfuns/ Odysseus it visually looks "disturbing" to me.

Obviously there's no way to guarantee no gap in every set up. As mentioned, even the single accent ring in 500 mode has a gap in some set ups. I believe the current accent ring was designed to work best with AW IMR batteries, and that's what I was thinking for an 18650 ring. But even AW IMR batteries of the same size have differing lengths. However, the small variances in battery and atty connection length can be, somewhat, compensated for with the provided o-rings.

Just catching up and great discussion. I know some may disagree but, many of you know my quandary of ordering both the Ti 500 and the ELA. I love smooth lines. Period.
On top of the double ring, a smooth locking ring or smooth with a few designed shallow cuts would force my hand at buying another. I just don't care for knurled rings, cats, tubes, buttons or boxers.
I understand the need for some but having strong pimp hands:laugh: I feel the new look would update and allow those of us with rampant ocd manage with less self therapy :)
Please David?
