Just catching up and great discussion. I know some may disagree but, many of you know my quandary of ordering both the Ti 500 and the ELA. I love smooth lines. Period.
On top of the double ring, a smooth locking ring or smooth with a few designed shallow cuts would force my hand at buying another. I just don't care for knurled rings, cats, tubes, buttons or boxers.
I understand the need for some but having strong pimp hands:laugh: I feel the new look would update and allow those of us with rampant ocd manage with less self therapy :)
Please David?
I've been quite distracted lately, so sorry... do you have or have you seen an ELA in person?

You don't like my dogs, Idabro? Ha ha, j/k I do have 2 boxers though.
I dont mind the knurled on some things. I understand where you are coming from though.
I think you are stalking me too.... we seem to hang out in the same 3 threads :p
I can't wait for my ti500 and ela:D

I have one on order but, in fact have held and vaped one in Las Vegas. Too many bumps for one ring....maybe. I plan on doing my best :).
My first step was the order, I now ask questions :)

Indeed! I just stalk high end quality.

OCD...............................................

If you can name a psych issue, I probably have it...................

But, my ELA is perfect. All configs .. perfect!

Thank you and I bet sister! I am looking forward to it also. I wont apologize to anyone for posting that as I have had this discussion pm/email with many owners that "get it" and they love their ELA's.
I like clean and neat, not that the ELA is neither and I will freely admit it is me. I just see an option of a smooth ring with cut lines as David did with the top caps, artful even.
I have had several opportunities to buy an ELA, this time it is going to stick and I will look at as mine!
The Ti I am extremely excited about. Two things that stop me in my tracks is Ti and smooth lines.

I posted this a couple weeks ago, The polished on the right has two of the top pieces. The finish doesnt match perfectly because Ive had it since June? and the second top part is really new. I wish that David would make a double length so its one nice smooth piece.

?...when ordering the accent rings, does it just come with the top ring? In the pic on super t site, it shows top and bottom, so I am confused. It would be nice to have 1 ring for 18500 and 1 double length for 18650.
David could make these for the aw batteries as he recommends, plus that is that I use:) I would like very minimal gap, however 18350 is currently my favorite size

He only sells them as a set ( 1 upper and 1 bottom) I hope that he sells them as a set and separately. How I came about having 2, is that when I ordered my first ELA, I also ordered a set of the satin. So when I ordered my second ELA I ordered it with polished accents. So I ended up with a second polished set. Im glad I did so now I can use the extra top piece for when I use it in 18650, its look good, but it starts to look to "seem-y" plus like I saw, the finish is visible since one has been in use for than 6 months and the second piece was brand new.

Thanks, I guess I will order a set. I would order 2 but the rate it will take to get my first Ela, I am not so sure I will ever be able to get a second one:laugh:
Nevermind, it let me add them to the cart but would not checkout:laugh:

Love that picture P.

It is a great pic. They look amazing. I now have to agree with your earlier comment on the knurling. It would be nice to have a smooth ring or even one like the bottom accent ring. If we keep talking about it; maybe David can make some for us:D Just as he did with the bottom button and offered brass bottom button the other day(brass something he offered:unsure:)

Okay, good!
I'm a clean lines gapless kind of guy too. When I first got the ELA I was a little taken aback by it, it is such a departure from my beloved P+. Knowing what I know to be true I took some time and imagined myself as David as the ELA was born.
Around that time the boom of super clean, bottom firing, often engraved sexy tubes was just beginning. I can see David thinking "Uhhh, anybody can do that. I'll do something different!". Using his signature style as the basis, he *purposely* made something that is the antithesis of the Caravela, Paps, etc. and the klone boom resulting.
To me the ELA is at once beautiful and brutish, simple and maddeningly intricate, something to shine and fetish over then go work on your car with.
The knurling and bumps and little gaps grew on me as I began to understand that the ELA is a statement. An answer. Don't F with me.

Ok all of you Experienced rba users I need some help please! I can get 12 perfect coils in a protank head! but I want something better than cheap china plated mystery metal...Can you guys recommend me a" COMPACT " nicely machined stainless stee tank style rba ect that compliments a polished ELA well?? Price isn't that big of a deal I just want something nicely made/functions well and Compact....USA made would be nice, You can PM me suggestions/links if you don't mind ide really appreciate it Please and Thank you!

I use either the kayfun or Taifun on my ela. Both look great on it, especially the Taifun

Kayfun, Taifun and Origen dripper, they all work and look great on the ELA and you just can't go wrong with any of these.
